The Critics are soooooo wrong.I believe if the fans still love them and keep supporting them, then their days are definatly not limited. (All those critics are probably just hoping they will leave, but they are not goin' anywhere). Also,BSB's tour is better than ever,so how could there days be limited if they just keep getting stronger and better every new album!!

the critics are very wrong if they think that the bsb days are numbered. their still going strong after 8 years, everyone loves them and they are officialy the richest band on the planet and the biggest band on the planet still going. so n sync might be having their time now but bsb are gonna steal it back real soon. my nan and grandad love them as do my mum and dad - they appeal to everybody not just young fans. also most celebrities love them and they have kept their feet firmly on the ground - how many artists have done that? whatever anybody says, nobody can deny that the bsb can sing and nobody can deny that their time is NOT up, it's only just beginning!

What does a forty year old like about BSB? Quite frankly I have not seen anything not to like. I listen to their CD's every day. The music is excellent. They sing great. Each voice is distinct. When we are on the road, I crank it up and we all sing along. Every time I see them in an interview they seem to have such a great time together. I hear their music every where. The interesting thing about them is how they grow. It seems they do it with out the support of Jive, MTV, or music critics. As long as they produce music, I will be there to buy it day one. I'm glad they are not into public image, but focus on the people that understand that for them it is the music. As a mom, I can support them and not worry about my kids being badly influenced. I am proud to be a BSB fan.

After reading some of the comments on this topic, I couldn't help but to add my opinion to this so-called article. And after reading this person: Dorothy's comments, I just have to add my opinion to this. This Backstreet Boys are sitting on 8 years, by that time, most artists fade out but NOT BSB, their fan base has a huge variety and they won't be gone for a long while(possibly 10 or more years). Last year, Jive, MTV etc. didn't represent BSB large enough but now, NSYNC is nowhere around and everyone talks about the B&B tour. Everyone has their time to shine. And right now and forever, it will be BSB's turn forever.

KTBSPA!!!!!=)

You're saying that all the boybands will fade out eventually, right??? Well, that's just good cuz then we'll be rid of

*Nsync and all that other crap!! But the Backstreet Boys.....? They won't fade or dissappear....they're NOT a boyband,

remember??? They're a Vocal Harmony Group!!!!!!!!!!!! REAL performers, REAL musicians!!!!!!!

Karen, I agree with both you and Monica about Jive records not representing BSB properly, one day Jive will get their just deserts.

Did'nt Kevin say that they wanted to keep out of the limelight so that people would'nt get sick of seeing them? I think that they were right to do that because at the moment groups like Nsync and performers like Britney Spears are over saturating the television with rubbish all sounding the same, people will get wise in the end. These people are all about image, it's not about the music, they do'nt appear to take it seriusly.

All of us keep putting BSB and Nsync in the same category. But it's the difference between a Versace dress or something that looks the same that you can buy off the peg, the original is always better. Nsync do'nt matter, to me it does'nt matter what they do, what awards they get, how much critical acclaim they get, I think the same of all the other boy bands (BSB is not in that catergory) they are watered down versions of the worlds biggest pop band and no-one wil ever fill their shoes, no matter how big another band may be.

I am certain that BSB's new album will be a massive hit, I'm not concerned if they break Nsync's record or not, that does'nt matter, what matter's to me is longevity, as long as I can buy their music for years to come I will be happy. I know that I have run off a bit and totally gone off the track, (sorry about that) but I think you know what I am trying to say.

Adios.

Karen, I agree with everything that you have said and I said as much on another part of this site, only I said that it was Johnny Wright, Jive Records and MTV that wanted to see BSB fall flat on their faces.

I think that Jive records wanted to give Nsync a fair chance at the VMA's, because they had never won an award as they were always seen as shadowing BSB and they wanted another one of their clients to win an award besides BSB. (I did'nt watch the VMA's, I could'nt bear to watch the smug look on the faces of Nsync and Eminem as they collected their awards, instead I watched a good video, followed by a BSB video and ate a bag of popcorn, you must have a stronger stomach than me to have watched it at all)

But, I think that BSB will come back bigger and stronger than ever, we fans wont have to scream, I firmly believe that BSB's music will do it for us. We know that their next album is eagerly anticipated by fans all around the world and I for one will certainly buy it.

BSB are certanly not stupid and have kept out of the limelight so that people wont get sick of seeing and hearing them and because of this, people can't wait to hear their new record. Rather than think of how well they do in the States, you should think of how well they do all over the world. They have sold far more copies of Millennium globally than Nsync has of NSA.

I have just read an interview of Nsync's. When asked why they did'nt do a concert in the UK they replied that they had no fans in the UK so they could'nt do one. Neither their singles nor their album have done very well over here (the last single, It's Gonna Be Me only reaching number nine which is very poor for a group of their apparent stature. BSB, Eminem, Britney Spears and Sisquo are all bigger over here than Nsync)

I know that BSB will continue to do well both in the States and the rest of the world despite the apparent lack of interest shown by their record company, you wait and see.

Cya.

I think that this article was pretty much opinionated and not really based on facts. While they actually picked up the fact that the BSB are growing as their fans are, the article failed to mention that although they're losing younger fans, they're gaining a lot of older fans, while their original fans grow as BSB's music does. This takes BSB away from the boy band, bubble gum pop mold and gives them their own identity and style. It is obvious to me that BSB will be around for a long time, they're no passing trend.
