Are BSB's days numbered? Of, course, everyone's days are numbered. But if you mean it by anytime
soon, I dont think so. They have the quality of being around for another 8 years.
They say they love what their doing, and they dont want to stop. Even AJ had said
that on Diary that the group is the tightest they have ever been, which relieves me
because I dont want them to break up. I'm proud to hear that.
I think that everyone that is not a BSB fan wants their days to be numbered because they are going farther
than any boyband has gone. Usually other bands have only been around for 2-4 years,
but I think that the BSB will definetly be around longer. Other bands, such as O-Town and *NSYNC,
are fresh and young, and that's what people like in a boyband. They are living up to the Boyband expectations.
BSB are different, they are mature, married, and they want everyone to know that they are regular people.
I think the other Boybands will fade, and BSB will live on, and hopefully become legends.

I used to NOT like BSB because I thought only the screaming, money flashing airheads like the popular girls at school liked them. The BSB fans I had met before were pretty mean and VERY obsessive... now that I think of it, they weren't real fans, just teeny boppers. I never really listened to them, I just put automatic prejudices against them because they were good-looking and I thought they only used their looks to get fame.

I started liking them after I heard 'Shape of My Heart' and 'The Call'. I thought they were really cool songs. I liked them a LITTLE. Then I borrowed my friend's 'Millennium' and 'Backstreet's Back' and I REALLY began liking them.

So you see, even though they've been around for 8 yrs by the time I started liking them, I eventually did become a fan. Their songs never fail our standards. I think they will become legends like Frank Sinatra. Their days are numbered, but they aren't over anytime soon.

As much as I love the BSB, and A great as they are, of course their days are numbered. And they are soooo awesome. It's just the nature of the business. I know people (artists) have this void about saying "pop" but that's what it is.

I love the BSB. I'll listen to their albums probably ten years from now. However when you sell albums on more than great talent, which they have, then you're looking at a maximum 10 year span.

People think of them as cute, sexy, adorable. That's what helps sell their music even though it's really good music. So when they're all married (not just two of them) and they have kids the fans will care contrary to their beliefs and that's just the way it is.

How many people morally think of married fathers as sexy, and cute?

I wish the BSB could pull off the impossible and keep their fans solely on musical talent.

I didn't used to like BSB. When Burger King had those huge posters of them on their windows, I thought, "That group is really becoming cute!" Then, the first few times I heard Shape of My Heart, I thought, "Wow! Nsync came out with a good song." Mind you, I was not into the whole pop thing at all. And all the hype that I heard over boy bands was all centered around Nsync at the time. Then, one day, while flipping though the tv, I saw BSB on TRL. I noticed that the blinds were down and I decided to watch. That's when I discovered that BSB sang Shape of My Heart. That's when I started liking Backstreet. At first it was hard to admit to myself that I liked a "boyband." I really started getting into them when I started listening to all their cd's and researching their background. Then I thought about giving Nsync a try. I was really disappointed by their cd's. I couldn't get into a lot of the songs because to be quite frank, they sound like Backstreet rip-offs. I can listen to all 3 of BSB's cds straight, but Nsync, I have to skip over a lot that I don't like. Also, that Justin guy's voice makes me cringe, its so Britney Spears like. Anyway, now to get to "Are their days numbered?" I don't thinks so. First, BSB has like half the world groveling at their feet. And even though critics say fans will grow out of it, I say, "What about me? I just discovered the beauty of their music, when the average fan my age discovered it long ago." So their fan base will remain steady as long as they keep putting out good music. In my opinion, groups like Nsync and O-town will fade away. Nsync is more dance driven. I'll admit, they dance well. Backstreet's music is more vocally challenging. In the long run, when Nsync no longer have the ability to dance the way they do, Backstreet will still have their good music.

I really think in my heart that BSB are here to stay. I mean look at wht they are doing and what they have done in the past. They are the best. Hands down. Look I went from grunge to them. That has deffinetly gotta say something. They have opened my heart in so many ways. I was a really hard-hearted person before I heard them sing. I dodn't care about anything or anyone. I basically got tired of being hurt by everyone around me and just tuned out. I never smiled and I always had a bad attitude. I never was like that before in my life then all of a sudden I juat had had it. With men, family, friends, co-workers, everyone. Then I heard "I want it that way". Man that opened my eyes to so many things. To me, that song meant so much in so many ways. I can't even count them. I just thank you that you have brought back the old me. Your music is my therapy to many of my feelings. I hear a song of yours, any song, and for some reason I have been through that sometime in the week. I either start yelling, or crying or whatever. But then I feel really good afterwards. There is a song sung by Howie on the B&B album called "how Did I Fall In Love With You". Man that song really touch my heart deeply. I was soo in love with this guy who was like my best friend. We both had feelings about each other. We had discussed it and we both agreed to be just friends because we knew what eachother was capable of doing. We knew if I didn't hurt him, he would hurt me. We didn't want that for each other. Yes we did stuff too. Now he has a girlfriend and I won't touch him. I told him that if he got a g/f I was going to stop messing with him. He did and I stopped. Now he gets mad at me because of it. I just tell him that he don't need me anymore. He has someone special and he should be faithful. I know in my heart that from my experiences in the past, I will be a better person in the future. When I get a B/F I am going to be faithful to the end. But until then... It's on!!!! KTBSPA peeps!! and.....
Don't be silly protect your willy...
Before you do it, think through it...

What is everybody's opinion on this article.

Backstreet Boys Split????

The Backstreet Boys have come to the end of the road and are set to split.

The five-piece - AJ, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell and Howie B (This is how it was printed in the Newspaper I did not make the mistake, and where is AJ’s last name?) have decided their current world tour will be their last.

They will release a greatest hits album early next year and then call it a day.

A band insider revealed: "They’ve been together for eight years and have dominated the pop world for over half of that time.

"They’ve been a huge success and want to boy out on top. The lads are planning to release a greatest-hits album in the new year and that will be it. They have no plans to record as a band again, but have the option of a reunion tour if they see fit"

I (RAV) was the first British journalist to interview The Backstreet Boys back in 1995 and can tell you they are a great bunch and real professionals.

The band has been a huge success for boyband Guru Lou Pearlman, who now manages ‘N Sync (Oh really?). The Backstreet lads (Lads Ugh!) from Orlando, are all grown up now - Brian and Kevin got married last year and want to do their own thing.

My source revealed "They’re each worth £100 million, which is phenomenal. They can give it all up tomorrow, but don’t want to let their fans down.

"It wasn’t an easy decision but they didn’t want people to start getting bored with them!"

"I’m assured they won’t all be leaving the music world. AJ will be touring as his alter-ego Johnny No Name, Brian is preparing for a solo career and Nick manages a band.

The boys, who had hits with Quit playin’ games, I want it that way, and Backstreet’s Back (erm... I remember lots more actually!) splashed out £1 million to promote their latest album Black and Blue. It paid off - they have sold more than eight million copies worldwide.

A spokesman for the band told me last night. "There is nothing in the schedule for the boys beyond this year!"

I think that the reason the critics are so quick to say that Bsb's days are numbered is because from day one they all said that bsb had no talent and they would last maybe a year or two if they were lucky. Well guess what? BSB had proved all the critics wrong and they hate them for that. They hate that bsb has stayed strong for 8 years and counting. They hate that bsb are talented singers and song writers and they hate that bsb takes what they do seriously and plan on staying here for alot longer. So, the critics do all they can to tear them down. You don't see critics ripping on N'sync. That's because N'sync is doing exactly what is expected of them. The lame old song and dance rountine...the "we just wanna have fun" carefree attitude. The media loves them because they have lived up to that boy band standard 110%.

When the Beatles first entered the music scene admist the wanning favour of the 'Hippie Movement', crtics perpetually bashed them for their rising popularity over their puppy-love songs. However, the Beatles had an image and songs that would inevitably allow them to grow with time. Eventually, grandmas, grandpas, young girls, young women, and some die-hard crtics started giving in to the Beatlemania that was spreading like wildfire. And, for generations, even now, for-years olds are more conversant of John Lennon than Big Bird. Nowadays, I can honestly say that I am seeing the same growth with Backstreet. As a former Goth fan of Marilyn Manson and someone who once detested the 'mushy' lyrics of Backstreet, I have developed a new found love for them. No other band such as them has perservered for approx. nine years and has gained such an immense fan base, singing songs that transcends gender, generational, especially racial lines to this magnitude. Can any other band truly proclaim that they could still shut-down Times Square after a 7-month hiatus? *nsync can't, oh, and speaking of *NSYNC, when they tried to make NSA, they were attempting to transcend racial lines only(BIG MISTAKE). Not to be racist, but most blacks do not make good fans if you are looking for long-term fan devotion. Just refer to the early 90's rappers whose sole fan-base were black and had only one hit after their fan-base simply grew weary of them. Their beats in BYE, BYE, BYE have a deliberate urban beat to them, trying to adopt a funkier, more urban image. SORRY, BUT THEIR TARGET AUDIENCE IN WHICH THEY TRYING TO EXPAND TOWARDS(I.E. BLACKS) DID NOT BUY TO SAD, CHAEP ATTEMPT TO CASH IN TO THEIR COMMUNITY, JUST LOOK AT THE HBO SPECIAL! They are trying to be something in which they are not. However, Backstreet still has their etnic fans, but, after BYE, BYE, BYE become old, most of their black fans abandoned. And, they have also alienated a fifth of their white fans as well as international fans. In conjunction with that, they never really sold 2.4 million, it was actually the combined attempt by Jive and their fans to slam the record honestly set by BSB. What is going on at Jive is that, when BSB threatened to leave after they took on nsync, they knew that they were going to be left with only Britney andnsync, two acts with an infinitesimal chance at survival. Therefore, they officially promised them 40million as told to the press, but the real deal was that they werr trying to milk the nsync cashcow dry before the current teen-pop wave comes to a halt. Therefore, they rigged the numbers from 1.2 million, in which nsync had actually sold, barely beating MILLENNIUM, to 2.4 million by placing a #2 next to the quantity line when it was being checked out. The nsync fans did their part, however, not aware of Jive's intentions, by buying 3-7 copies, since nsync actually has such a small fan base. Knowing the social psychology of teenagers, they knew that the seemingly 'most popular' would be the ones in which most teens would herd towards. Thus, by making nsync look like the 'popular ones' they felt that most teens would run towards them. nsync also has a 3-album deal, with 'celebrity' being the last of their deal while BSB has a guaranteed 6-8 album deal. As for Black ad Blue, the numbers were manipulated to, in which it was actually 3.6million, but 'modified' to 1.6 million. Well, these are the facts that will truly confirm that they are here to stay, Good Day!

Nobody can decide whether their days are numbered or not, 'sides them of course. But, I think that as long as they have fans, they'll be around. And they'll always have fans. Sooo, I guess that means they'll always be around. No matter what anybody says, the Boys are that kind of band with that kind of influence that when we get old, we'll be listening to them on an old-fashioned CD player while our grandkids are yelling, "Why are we listening to these OLDIES?! They are SO outdated! The Backstreet Boys are OVER, grandma/grandpa!" Then, with the biggest smile on your face, you can calmly respond with, "Backstreet now, Backstreet forever." You wouldn't be lying.
