I'm 17, almost 18, and everyone told me I would grow out of it. I haven't yet and I don't think I ever will. People still love the Beatles and who have BSB been compared to?? THE BEATLES!! They said themselves that their music is growing with their fans. A lot of their fans are moving on to N Sync, Five and others, if you don't mind me saying - they suck. But that's just my opinion. Anyway, I think that a lot of their current fans' parents are getting into the music, which shows their music is getting more mature. The young people who are just getting into music will want something new and fresh, so hopefully the current fans as they get older will stick with the BSB. It is scary to think about things that have a ffected your life in such a huge way. May soon be gone. I know in my case if the BSB were in a bad place. I as a TRUE fan would help them. The only way to do that is to stay a fan and to stay a loyal fan. Its us guys!! It is all up to us! Even if we grow in music, always to just keep Backstreet in our hearts, and musical selection. If it is not for us they will go and diminish into only the fondist memories of our childhoods/teenage lives. The only thing is that it doesnt have to be that way. We can help! Fans are differnt. And that was a lie when they said Bsb didn't want to admitt that a lot of Bsb fans where adult (they encourge it) Submitted by Ashlyn from Liverpool New York USA Date: Wed Dec 22 15:46:27 1999 OK everyone knows that any group that has more than one guy and none of them play instruments is classified as a "boy band" Which means usually that they are just some fad that will fade with time. The Backstreet Boys, to me, are an exception to this classification. They write some of their own songs and are playing intruments. Although they may not have the same amount of fame as they have now. Everyone knows that no one will forget. They appeal to a broad range of age groups. Heck, even my grandma loves to listen to my BSB cd's! They are also evolving. If anyone has heard some early BSB songs you know what I am talking about. It's not the same songs they might be singing if they were still with Trans-Con. They have personality and talent. Which I am sorry to say most other wannabes (5ive, 'N Sync, No Auhority, etc,). I mean BSB were the pop music pioneers of the 90's. Do you seriously think that the reason 'N Sync made it to the top so much quicker is because they have more talent? No, BSB just had to work for their success in the US. And in my opinion they deserve everything they have achieved. I am absolutely sick of this "oh they'll be gone soon". PLEASE!!! Don't make me sick!!! And all this "they suck" business. I am proud to say I love all kinds of music, some more than others, but I don't dog on Limp Bizkit just cuz they're not "pop". I may not listen to their cds but I don't run around saying that they are terrible musicians when I don't know what I am talking about. And do me a favor to all the "BSB-HATERS" get over it. No one is going to change their opinion just because you don't like it. I can have my opinion and you can have yours. Yeah, poor *nsync is cooling off slowly but surely and I feel really bad about it too cuz I like them a little. But the BSB are so obviously a step above the rest and they have so much staying power that I see them lasting way longer than most have predicted!!
