First Page - Previous - Next - Last - Add Entry - Other Topics - Message Boards - Exit Page 45 of 50 Submitted by Whitney from pasadena us Date: Wed Dec 22 17:47:08 1999 well, geez now. how old is this editor of Seventeen Magazine-eh? how does she know what i care and what you care? she's most definatley not a teen. i doubt she's heard any of BSB's songs more than once, and even if she has..well then..that's her opinion. but i am also intitled to mine as well. now i love bsb and nothing is gonna change that, not time, not money, not their looks. but also why does this women thinks that on June first all pop is going to cease, radio stations will only play hip hop and grunge rock. well i listen to a radio station called KROQ- or some people call it k-rock. and that's what it plays-all rock music. you won't here bsb (unfortuanately) or 702-just good old rock, including limp bizkit and kid rock and blink 182. so now, is this station going to go out of business when the editor of 17 says "rock is out and hip hop is in"? no! people have listened to what they wanna listen to their whole lives. personally i don't give a **** what the editor of seventeen says. who does she think she is anyway? Critics have absolutley no right predicting when the BSB's career is going to be over. I Dont Think So!!!! They are the hottest group out and there is no reason to put them down like that. All different age groups love the BSB and that is what makes them so popular. Sure, there are a few bands that are childish,(like the Spice Girls) but the BSB realize that and are aware of it. They do what they love and they are who they are, which makes them different and so lovable. In my opinion they will always be popular, maybe not the most, one one of them. No matter what anyone says they are different in all there speical ways. Me personally I love the BSB and they are NOT going anywhere. Ya know even if they do I am a devoted fan and they will always be number one in my eyes. These girls are not going to out do my BSB. They've been together for six years and have survived all the backlash now, so I don't see why they can't be around for six more years(let's hope it's ten, twenty, thirty!) Once they start getting married and having families, though, they will have to make a transition in their fan base. (Either that or else their fans will have to stop caring about their personal lives) Kevin will be almost forty(!) in ten years, and most teenagers don't pine over forty year old guys. That's why they will still be popular for fans who love their music and think they're pretty darn cute even if they have girlfriends(and maybe even because of it)(strong commitment is so admirable) :) Most of their original fans will be in their twenties, then, anyway. To make a short story long, if BSB want to survive and people like us want them to survive, too, then they will and nobody has to worry about anything. Oh, and to even compare BSB to NKOTB... I mean, she may be the editor for whatever magazine, but she is not their only audience! I am 16 years old and I have been a fan for at least 3 years now. Date: Wed Dec 22 16:58:24 1999 I think the the article on Boy Bands and their one moment of fame is just what tipicle people think of something that they have never listened to or really thought about. Backstreet Boys have lasted for 7 years and are still going to be on the top when the new millennum starts. They have an audience of all age ranges from elementary kids to adults, so how can you say that the audience will never grow with the band? They have already grown, so what you are saying does not make sense. And I hope that the Boy Bands prove you wrong and all the other critics out there.
