This article scares everyone who is a true and deep hearted Backstreet Fan. It is scary to think about things that have a ffected your life in such a huge way. May soon be gone. I know in my case if the BSB were in a bad place. I as a TRUE fan would help them. The only way to do that is to stay a fan and to stay a loyal fan. Its us guys!! It is all up to us! Even if we grow in music, always to just keep Backstreet in our hearts, and musical selection. If it is not for us they will go and diminish into only the fondist memories of our childhoods/teenage lives. The only thing is that it doesnt have to be that way. We can help! Take a stand, show all the critics wrong and keep Backstreet on top. It is all up to us to save them from these cruel words and futural statements. Just remember even if you grow, once a Backstreet Boys fan, Always a Backstreet Boys fan! KTBSPA!! Love-Hannah please e-mail me!@ AJM4EvrNmyHrt69@aol.com! thanx!

What I believe as much as people like to think that they know we really don't know what's gonna happen to all the so called boybands. There is no more

garuantee that KoRn or Limp Bizkit will be as popular next year either. The one thing that these people who "know" didn't acknowleged was the

fact that times have changed. Rap evloved and so has rock so why can't the industry of pop change? And it has changed dramaticaly.

If a pop star admitted to having a girlfriend in the 60's it was a career suicide. The BSB and 98* have public relationships with

thier girlfriends and they still have hits. Pop acts no longer has to be squeaky clean either. Our Boys sport and show off thier tatoos, Robbie

Williams have acted crazy in his videos and it still sells records. They don't even have to be straight anymore as a member of Boyzone proved

by becoming openly gay and they still won the European award for best album. I'm not shutting out the idea of BSB not being around for

much longer, I think the article is mostly one sided and it takes a lot of sides to tell the whole story of this buisness. Well at least that's what

I think anyway.

I'M 15 YEARS OLD AND I'VE KNOWN THE BOYS SINCE I WAS 12. MY MUSICAL TASTES HAVE CHANGED A LOT SINCE THAT, BUT I'VE NEVER LET THE BOYS DOWN BECAUSE THEY MEAN ( AND ARE) EVERYTHING FOR ME, AND I DON'T THINK THAT THEY'RE GOING TO DISSAPEAR SO EASILY LIKE ANOTHER GROUPS THAT I COULD NAME. LET'S TAKE THE SPICE GIRLS AS AN EXAMPLE. THEY WEREN'T AS STRONG AS OUR BOYS ARE, THEY DIDN'T HAVE A REAL FRIENDSHIP LIKE OUR BOYS HAVE, AND THEIR MUSIC WAS DIRECTED TO THE GIRLS BETWEEN 8 AND 13. BUT THE BACKSTREET BOYS MADE GREAT CHANGES TO THEIR LOOKS AND THEIR MUSIC, AND THEY PROBED TO US THAT THEY ARE STRONG, THEY ARE REAL FRIENDS AND THEIR SONGS CAN BE LISTENED BY ANYONE IN THE WORLD. DO YOU THINK THAT ONLY TEENS BUY THEIR MUSIC? I'VE SEEN PEOPLE OF ALL AGES BUYING THEIR CD'S, AND I'VE NEVER SEEN A PERSON OVER 30 BUYING SPICE GIRLS' MUSIC. MAYBE I'M WRONG WITH THIS, BUT IS MY SINCERE OPINION.

ALSO I MUST SAY THAT I'VE GROWN WITH BSB, AND I BELIEVE THAT I WILL CONTINUE GROWING UP WITH MY BOYS AND THEIR MUSIC. AND THEY HAVE GROWN WITH US... THE FIRST TIME THAT I HEARD THEM, NICK WAS 16, BRIAN 20, KEV 25, AJ 19 AND HOWIE 23 OR 24 AND THEIR MUSIC WAS JUST COMERCIAL POP. NOW THE GUYS ARE A LITTLE BIT OLDER, AND THEIR MUSIC IS MORE MATURE AND ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. I'M PROUD OF THEM, THEY ARE WONDERFUL AND THEIR MUSIC WILL LAST FOREVER IN US, THE BACKSTREET FANS.

Howdy! I read this article the other day and since then I have been thinking about what this person is trying to say. After reading some of the other opinions I have come to the realizeation that bsb and the other "boy bands" are not going to be around forever. I know that that is alredy very obvious but I have never really thought about that. I as a music lover is also starting to grow out of the Backstreet Boys music and I am starting to turn to more rock types of music. I am sure that alot of the other fans are starting to turn from bsb music as well. From saying all of that I am sure that the article is a bit true.(I really didn't want to say that). When I say that a bit of the article is true I mean that the "boy bands" are not able to grow with all of the fans. This doesn't mean that the next generation is not going to like them. I know that my sister and all of her friends love them even all of my sisters guy friends like them so I have finally said what I am trying to say even if it doesn't make sence.

ps: The Backstreet Boys have said it themselves "as long as there will be music we will becoming back again" (incase you didn't get it it was takin from backstreets back.)

Also i have to say that all of the others who have been stating there opinions are true fans. If there are this many people who are standing up for them then it is impossible for the Backstreet Boys to fizzle awy!

Keep the Backstreet Pride Alive!!!

My opinion about this article is that the Backstreet Boys may *ahem* split *ahem* doing solo projects of their own. But who really knows maybe they could be the group that would really stay together but ocasionally make some solo albums of their own though come back together again to make a group album. Of course I have seen the rise and fame of NKOTB, but it all broke up together by one person who just wants to change and do something else. I respect them even though they do some projects, but what Nick Carter said himself, "We have some things on our mind for the each of us, but we will always be a group." I believe in what little Nicky had said, but he is only say 19 years old. Though I trust him on this answer. For myself, I would love the Backstreet Boys to stay together just to prove all that cover up hype that everyone has their 15 minutes of fame. I think BSB's fame is still ticking and going on for many, many years. By the way, doesn't anybody else see N'sync slowly going away because of their long awaited album which has not been released but was supposed to be released in December. But oh well I'm proud for them to be breaking up soon which I hope they do! KEEP THE BACKSTREET PRIDE ALIVE AND FOREVER FOR MANY YEARS TO COME WITH NO RESTRICTIONS!!!!!

I'm a very dedicated Backstreet Boys fan. Been with them through the hard times and the good. I also run "Backstreet Heaven" newsletter with almost 5,000 members.

Yes, it's true the music industry's always changing rapidly. Our tastes changes. But sometimes you have to go with the flow.

I'm 15 and I know when I'm 40, I'll still be popping in that CD singing along with "I Want It That Way." There are many "fans" out there that will give up on BSB... but I can't. There music has meaning and I'm very happy their music is maturing as well as their attitudes.

I am kind of sick of all these new boybands kicking in. Backstreet Boys are the ones who brought this era in. They are the pioneers and we don't need copycat bands. I know all these bands developing will blow up and people will just get sick of it. At the end, BSB will lose- and we'll be crying because they are out of the industry. But that will not be for a lot of years.

Hopefully, the critics understand there will be MANY of us who will continue to love the Backstreet Boys.. not because of how they look but how they sing. Yes they are VERY attractive men, but no way did their looks bring about my obsession.

I'm happy girl power may be kicking in, but music like BSB's.. good quality music... will never go out of style.

I really don't think that the article is ALL true...If a group has the staying power Like the Backstreet Boys

then their time is endless and it will probably boil down to them making the decision of quiting and moving on...I beleive

that Backstreet Boys will be around for a very long time because yes they do mature and people enjoy how they grow up

because they never change totally...BSB stands out because they have a unique sound that they would probably never

cange...They came first and are most experienced. Since they saw what happened to the lost boy bands such as Menudo,

NKOTB they know better than to make their mistakes.

Yes, I do agree that the "boy band" fad will soon be over. Simply because that's how the entertainment industry is. But the Backstreet Boys aren't your ordinary "boy band". If the Backstreet Boys were going to fall apart anytime soon it would've been this year. The past year was incredibly hard for the Boys. They had to go through things that can often tear a group apart. But they used their struggles to bring them closer together and stronger as musicians, people, and best friends. All of which helped them become one of the most successful acts of 1999. The Backstreet Boys have something that sets them apart from the rest. I can't exactly put my finger on what it is, but it's something. And I think that that "something" will help them break free from the one-hit wonder theory.

I think the Backstreet Boys are here to stay....they know what they are doing. They have the talent, the looks, and the dance moves and they always try to approve things. They will be here for a long time to come so get used to it.
