I am so sick and tired of hearing about the "boy bands" demise, and the recent classification of the boys in Entertainment Weekly as "falling" out of power, and Nsync being #38 in the Power Issue. SO ridiculous!! As long as the BSB have their fans, they will be around. We may be growing older ( I am 22) but that doesn't necessarily mean that we want to forget the boys entirely...And as far as Chapter 1 is concerned: If we can all afford to buy two copies...then so be it. We need to show the Billboard charts and the critics that these TALENTED guys can survive!!! Remember who their competition is on the 30th---Michael Jackson and Lenny Kravitz. THEY CAN TOTALLY TAKE THE CHARTS!
Buy multiple copies of CHapter One and lets show all of those HATERS who the REAL POWERHOUSES are!

This message board is almost a year old. How long have anti-BSB people been counting down till BSB's "demise?" Almost NINE YEARS! NINE! Nearly a decade now. So I don't see the end. Everytime someone says the end is coming for my favorite band in the world, since I was 13, I just laugh. You are just making us stronger. We love the BSB and we HATE when people doubt them, so what do we do? We support them, and they last. They gain new fans all the time who hear the amazing talent and get pulled in. Also its a trend of sorts. Music that critics hate, we see in retrospect, became legends. So continue hating on BSB. It will get you no where. I've been a fan for more than 5 years now and I don't plan on changing my mind anytime. I've changed a lot in 5 years, but BSB have remained my favorite music group throughout!! I'll be buying the Chapter One album the day of its release.KTBSPA!!!

very well said stephanie i believe 'nsync fans cheated and the media ran with it. bsb does not get any credit and 'nsync is the media darlings. it is sickening to see bsb lose to 'nsync over and over. i am on board the time is now to show your backstreet pride, i am on board to break the record fans stay true for the cause.to all bsb fans unite and e-mail each other to break a tainted record.(All caps detected. I just went to my fifth BSB concert on Oct. 15, 2001!!! I was the BEST yet! This morning I read the review of the concert... I'M DISGUSTED! Instead of focusing on the concert itself, they decided to compare BSB to Nsync, and claim that "the boys' end is in sight." What bothers me is that they say because Nsync has broken "nearly all of BSB's records" it means that they're finished.. and failing.
Why don't the critics take a step back and look at bands like the Rolling Stones, and artists like Janet Jackson who have been around for decades. They're not still here because they break records and outsell each other, BUT BECAUSE THEY MAKE THEIR FANS HAPPY, AND THEY ARE STILL MAKING GOOD MUSIC!!!(i also saw Janet last week... amazing!!) And that is what BSB does for us!
The paper did however say that the guys put on a fine tuned show.. and that their harmonies are definetely still there.:::Swooon::::
I just felt the need to remind people that the critics can say the Boys' days are numbered all they want...But it's us fans that will keep them here! WE'VE BEEN PROVING THEM WRONG FOR YEARS NOW! The guys still have it... THEY WERE AWESOME MONDAY NIGHT.. My freind Terri who prior to it had only been to an Nsync concert was more than imressed!
Just remember, right now critics are there strictly to criticize, trust me crtics weren't exactly crazy about the Rolling Stones when they first came out, but years from now, where it's easier to be more accepting of this whole "pop phenomenon", they will be singing praises for the wonderful music the Boys make, and we'll all be able to say "I TOLD YOU SO!" Until then KTBSPA!!!

HOW TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT THEIR DAYS ARE NOT NUMBERED:
Since The Backstreet Boys and their fans broke the record for most albums sold in one week with the release of Millennium, we?ve all watched N Sync fans come together to cheat the charts and make the world believe that within the states, N Sync reins. While the rest of us are aware that the numbers of albums sold doesn't directly match the number of fans who actually purchased the CD (polls for the release of ?No Strings Attached? showed that some 13% of fans that bought the CD in its first week bought 3 copies or more!) the media and other institutions haven't taken notice. Instead, when N Sync sells 2 million copies in one week, the media catches on and elevates N Sync to a status of having 2 million die-hard fans and always comparing it to BSB?s 1 million plus albums sold. Thus, Its time to make sacrifice! So, I come here with a mission statement!
Call it cliché, but I must say ?If You Can?t Beat Em, Join Em!? As we stand in the background saying ?HEY! They cheated the charts! We?re better than that!? N Sync and their fans are basking in the glory the media has given this ?success.? Simply put: we have to make some sacrifice, ban together, and do our best to break the record with the release of ?Chapter 1?. We can?t continue to allow our guys, the same guys that perform songs in our honor and are always honest with us about who they are and what they stand for, look as though they are second best to N Sync (the same group who calls their fans freaks, cuss each other out when the cameras are off, and use their status as celebrities to get away with being hypocrites (yes, I have examples)!). Don?t get me wrong; I?m not an immature N Sync hater! I?m simply tired of watching the only truly talented group go second best to this system of guys who work more as individuals than a group on behalf of each other (i.e.: N Sync). We cannot continue to stand back and pretend that by not pulling together with the goal of breaking the record that we are better than the N Sync fans! We cannot continue to allow the media (and MTV for that matter) to look at the Pop music scene and see N Sync at the top! Within every article about how HUGE N Sync is you can find some mention of this record and on many occasions it will be said, ?Compared to the Backstreet Boys?albums sold in one week.? Its time to show our guys how much a part of our lives they are! Its time to prove to the world that BSB isn?t ?Fading out? that they?re still very much a part of the music scene! It?s time to give the guys themselves the satisfaction of knowing that their fans have stuck with them through thick and thin!
LET US PULL TOGETHER AND START THE CHAIN OF EMAILS THAT FILLED THE MAILBOXES OF N SYNC FANS FOR SO LONG. THE EMAILS THAT READ, ?LET?S BUY MULTIPLE COPIES OF THIS NEW CD SO THAT THE RECORD WILL BELONG TO US!? LET US PROVE TO THE WORLD THAT THE FANS ARE HERE TO STAY!

PS: This isn't about making a point to N Sync fans and competing with them! It's about making a point to the media and the guys that BSB isn't fading out! That they are loved by music fans all over the world! Right now we're experiencing the domino effect: N Sync fans help N Sync break the record, the media cathches on to these millions sold and have reson to believe that it's all about N Sync now, The media writes articles supporting this N Sync fad and consequently believes BSB is fading out because N Sync sold a million more than BSB in the first week, MTV cathces on and plays the video more and gives more awards to N Sync believing that what the viewers wanna see win is N Sync, The radio sees this and starts playing N Sync more...Which has TOTALLY HAPPENED! This all results in more people getting a taste of N sync...believing N Sync is what's in...and all that air time and award for N Sync takes away from what BSB is getting thus people think they are fading out and take more interest in N Sync! Let's BREAK THE CYCLE!

Cathy from two comments below me said that "if the bsb makes the greatest hits album...no ones gona buy it coz we all have their cds and if they find out how low their sales are...they're gona be upset"....well yes that is true that they will be upset if the sales are low but the question is are YOU willing to let that happen?! are YOU willing to put the bsb down like that?! well, all i have to say is if you're a TRUE BSB FAN...you wouldnt put them down...and u would go and buy their greatest hits album and make them happy the way they always make us happy. agree?! and to cathy: have faith in them. dont talk like that about them. its upsetting. just believe in them and keep supporting them then they will be here to stay ok?! if u talk like that about bsb its really upsetting...and just think if bsb read that comment u made...how would they feel?!?! LoL, theres a laugh! yeah right! BSB's days are SO NOT NUMBERED! thats all bullsh*t! the media should shut up and stop making up rumors! gosh! BSB have been saying that 'the only thing that will ever split us up is death'! im hoping the media understands what that means! ugh...the media can make me so mad sometimes! and AJ said he wanted to be in BSB forever! and this was recently! the BSB will not end any time soon! they are great and are here to stay!if u hear they are breaking up, dont believe it! its all rumors! and ones they make their greatest hits album...that doesnt mean they're breakin up because kevin said its gona be called 'chapter one' meaning its the end of one chapter in their lives and the beginning of another! :) yey! anyways KTBSPA! more power to bsb and the kick @ss fans!!
