As a former New Kids on the Block Fan, and one who swore by her undying love for Joey McEntyre (it's sad, I can't even spell it anymore...), I unfortunately hold on to the pessimistic belief that the BSB's days are numbered. As much as I hope they prove me wrong and that they suceed beyond everyone else's expectations, I cannot stop from reflecting back on a time when I thought I would NEVER stop loving NKOTB. Althought the BSB do have a "melting pot" of fans, the majority of them are young girls and they are the ones that will eventually spell the demise of the BSB. Whether or not they realize it, these younglings will move on to other groups because it is the nature of maturity. They cannot help it, but they are young and they must discover different things in only a few years. Thus, I say that all BSB fans should hold on to the last moments of their fame because sooner or later, the end will come.

I suppose also, as an afterthought, that perhaps the end will be a blessing to the actual members of BSB. God knows they have to spend their entire lives in the glaring lights of fame and they have no time to reflect on themselves. When they do try to take a little time, people call them selfish and ungrateful. They have said themselves that they are tired, so perhaps the end will greet them instead of shun them.

I think they are nuts. BSB might not be as popular as they are now in a couple years but they will be around for along time. They have loyal fans who will get older and probably become more mature but they will still buy their cds and go to concerts. They might not be as wild and crazy but they will always be there. I think these people are old grumps that don't beleive that us fans just might like them for their talent as well as their looks. As for comparing them to NSync, they are a whole different group of people. Even though their sounds are similar to BSB's they ARE NOT The Backstreet Boys. I'm not ripping on NSync or anything but they may handle business and other affairs differently. They are just going by cliches and, as they have proven in various other ways, The Backstreet Boys are not a cliche. (Sorry about any misspellings)

The "Backstreet Boys" may not be around forever, but their music and the BSB pride will be. Even if in 10 years I am the only one in love with them that's fine! More BSB 4 me! They ARE some girls who will out grow their BSB obsession, but there are true fans who will love them forever. true, They may not be together as the Backstreet Boys forever, but the Backstreet Boys will never die! And there is no way they are going to endup in the famous boy band storybook ending, because hate to break it to ya, but the Backstreet Boys have talent. If these editor's actually saw the desire to be number one these guys have they would agree too. So K*T*B*S*P*A forever!

MY GOD KIDS! Why are all of you teeny-boppers getting so mad at this article?? I totally and fully agree with it! Bands do NOT last forever and they eventually break up, become crackheads and then die from an overdose or get shot or go their seperate ways! Learn to accept that, girls! The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith are a couple of bands that have lasted for over 3 decades, and they have come close to dying before. All bands disappear, die out, whatever, eventually. All artists eventually don't do it anymore. Especially all these Airbrushed, bubblegum pop, happy, phoofey "teen" artists. Rolling Stones and Aerosmith are not like that. Kid Rock has lasted a long time because his fan base has always liked that kind of music. Eventually you screaching girls will not like these phoofey artists anymore, they just get boring, accept that fact. Go ahead and sen me hate mail, I seriously do not give a...well, you know. Laterz

Ok, I know none of us want to admit it, but do groups ever stay around forever. Most people would think about it an say no. But I beg to differ. What about the beach boys and the beetles, the doors and all those other great bands of the past. there are still people who love those bands, and there will alway be tons of people who will forever love the backstreet boys. Sure their fame may calm down a bit, but it will never dissapear. The fellas have been the first "boy band" to not be a boy band at all. They have nearly as many adult fans as kid fans. teens who rule the stardom aren't as fickle as some people like to think they are. They know what they like and even if they change, what they've liked in the past will alway effect them. I know that I wil love the backstreet boys for the geration of my life, and I'll tell my kids about them when I'm older, or maybe, if we work hard enough I won't have to tell them about the bsb b/c they'll already know and love them. The fans can make this happen. People underestimate us. They shouldn't. No one can tell for sure haw long the bsb will be larger thatn life, but the fans can at least make it a really really long time. As long as there are fans there will be the band and there will always be fans, so iss it possible for the bsb to die??? I don't think so

The days of many boy bands are numbered. I hate to say it, but it's going to be extremely difficult for the Backstreet Boys to hold on to the superstardom they've attained. On the other hand, they're just the guys to do it. Being the first "boy band" (I hate that title) on the scene, they have the most devoted fans, and the most staying power of any group ou there. They also have many adult fans that are not quite as fickle as the 12 year-olds. I'm a fairly recent BSB fan and I think I appreciate them as much for the music as their exceptional good looks. If the boys can age their music a bit as tastes change, I think they'll be around for a really long time, but only time will tell if they'll be successful!!

I think that we have to admit it. BSB's fame isn't going to last forever. I mean, I am a huge BSB fan and I hope that they will stay around for a very long time. But teenagers are fickle and we change our minds and tastes often. However, it is true that BSB's music is targeted to all age groups and perhaps that will "save" them from extinction (I don't mean to be harsh). People have their ups and lows and the BSB may be able to stay on top for longer than anybody else but they're not going to stay there forever. I do think that their music will have effect on any other music and that they definitely won't be forgotten. It's not like we are going to abandon them because that's not what we are doing. It's just moving on but they are always going to be a special part of us.

I personally think that they will be around for a while. Because of their ability to evolve with the trends and gain a wide age range audience, they have a good chance. Also because of their ability to sing well, write songs, dance well, play instruments(occasionally) and maybe eventually produce songs, they have a good chance. They know how to hype a crowd and keep their fans, both young and old, happy.

I think as long as we fans stick behind the BSB there's no way to let them be over. The BSB will stay strong as long as their fans stay behind them. Radio can't stop playing them as long as people keep requesting. That's my opinion. If we stand up for BSB and our other fave groups, they'll still stick around.

Keep the Backstreet Pride Alive!
