They dont know the kind of fans BSB has cause they're not one. BsB's fans are devoted and they will do everything in there power to prevent something like that from happening. Us fans will never have to see the day when BSB falls off the charts because we won't let that happen. Those f*ckin adults can't tell the future! How are they suppose to know that BSB will lose their edge one day? Well let me tell u, BSB is the best the most talented (not to mention hottest) group that EVER came out of the music world! They will survive the changing years, they will disprove the critics' predictions, they will keep making new records and beat out all odds and u know why? I know that where I live and because of my age, it's hard for me to admit that I like all of the boy bands. It seems that if you like any of the boy bands, you're in the closet about it here. But I do believe that if these groups keep growing with their audience, the audience will stay with them. It isn't just about good looks - It's about the MUSIC! Just as the Backstreet Boys' careers are at the highest point they have ever been at, why does everyone think they will be gone tomorrow? They are doing what they love to do and they are doing it successfully. No one but the Boys themselves can say when they are going to stop. The Backstreet Boys have the most loyal, dedicated fans in the world, and as the BSB keep making music and keep coming out with new albums, the great fans will keep buying. That is what matters. The critics say that the fans will grow tired of the "pop phase" and that groups like BSB and 'N Syncwill disappear. It seems almost as if they don't want the popular "boy bands" to be quite so popular. Just because New Kids On The Block and Menudo broke up and seemed to just disappear one day, who has the right to say that the Backstreet Boys will have the same tragic ending? The BSB are more popular and have been more successful than any of the past boy groups and the are also more real. Ok, so they may not write ALL of their music themselves and play ALL of their music themselves, but do you see the groups who do play and write their own music at the top of the charts and at the prestigious music awards winning "Best Artist of the Year Award" or "Best Album of the Year Award"? No. You see the Backstreet Boys. There is no getting around the label that has been plastered all over boy bands today. The label calling them fake and unoriginal. If all that was true, why are they still #1? There is obviously something there that is real and original because no group in the past has been like the Backstreet Boys. Those 5 men, yes men have you not noticed that they all are older than 18 are gonna be around as long as tehy make great music. They can make the cheesiest song sould great by their awesome vocals and organized harmony. They aren't just 5 gorgeous faces who dance. They are 5 individuals who have extreme talent and a love for music that is indescribable. They wanna make people happy, they want everyone to forget about this crazy world and feel their music through the universal language. I know that the BSB will end soon, but for now I am enjoying the music. I don't know why critics and haters all make fun of it and say it will end within a month. Every fan knows they will end, but for right now, we are doing anything we can to support our boys. I'm not going to get all offensive like a bunch of other fans and say they will never end, because I know it's true and I can face that. I think they will be around longer than some of the other boy groups, they have already proved that. But for now, they are doing very succesful. Look at "Millennium", that broke a ton of sales records. That proves how great they are. BSB may be around now but think, do you think that they will have the same power in the music business they have now, twenty years later? They may still be around. Submitted by T from Fairfax VA USA Date: Thu Dec 23 16:09:48 1999 It gets old to hear that, once again, somebody is claiming that because the Backstreet Boys are a "boyband", they will not be around within the next few months. You know, only time will tell for something like that. However, the way the BSB are going now, it seems like they WILL be around at this time next year. I'm not taking into consideration the TRL hype, the kiddie magazines, the fact that hordes of youngsters "freak out" when they see a Backstreet Boy. I'm accounting for the millions of copies of albums sold, the fact that many listeners are of the ADULT persuasion, and the fact that most adults know good music when they hear it. I'm 22 years old and not ashamed to say I adore these guys for their musical talents. In a year, this is not going to change. The fact is, these Boys have pure talent. It is not "bubblegum" pop. Already, they've surpassed the number of hits that NKOTB had, so those comparisons shouldn't even be made. The comments made by magazine editors and the like are their opinions, that's it. Of course editors of magazines like to believe they are "in the know" about trends, and sure, they are, but that doesn't mean they are RIGHT about certain things. To compare the "BSB craze" to the Spice Girls is ridiculous. The Backstreet Boys have proven their talent, and will continue to do so. Date: Thu Dec 23 15:54:10 1999 I was reading over some of the other messages here and I just wanted to say that I'm glad that not everyone is living in a fantasy world. I really don't believe BSB will last forever. I definetly think they have a few more years to go but it will come to an end eventually. Even the guys know it could all end tomarrow. Now in all honesty I wish and HOPE they can last another 10, 15 years, but it's doubtful. They have been doing this for over six years now. It is very possible that the guys themselves may realize one day they don't want to continue to do this. Your probably thinking yeah right they love what they do but just remember they are only human. Now don't get me wrong I love the guys to death. They have gotten me through plenty of rough times. I've been a fan for two years now but there are alot of younger fans who will probably outgrow them. Their taste in music will change. I'm 20 and I know what I liked to listen to when I was 12 is completly different to what I like now. My taste in music is pretty stable now and I won't stop being a fan of BSB for anything in the world. Whatever happens in the future, I'll never forget them and what they have done for me. So instead of worrying about what's going to happen to them, just enjoy the music because in the end, even if they do die off the memory of them will always live on in thier fans!
