Are Their Days Numbered?

I'll try and keep this short so everyone who reads this doesn't get bored. I'm sick of critics saying that the days are numbered for the Backstreet Boys and other boy groups. If BSB's days were numbered, then they would've been gone about a year ago. But they aren't gone and it's because they have something those other short-lived groups lacked: talent. And I know that they are growing with their audience. The Millennium album was much more mature than the first album proving that they will last as long as they keep making good music and improving as they have already. And nothing makes them any different from other groups out there like Blink 182, except for the fact that their music genre is different. So how come people aren't saying that groups like Blink aren't going to be gone soon? Why are critics attacking only pop groups? It doesn't make any sense. And I know that I will never tire of their music because it is the type of music I listen to. I'm not really into that hip hop and rap and stuff which is starting to dominate music more and more, so I won't be the type of person to lose interest and forget about the Backstreet Boys. Even though I'm a teeny-bopper, as critics call anyone who's 10-15 years old (even though I don't like other teen groups or artists like, obviously, 'N Sync, Britney Spears, LFO, and Christina Aguilera-even though I do think she's a very good singer), I still listen to adult contemporary stations that also play BSB. And I know many other people who do not just like BSB for their looks but for their talent. Their very good looks are just an added bonus. =) So I know that as long as there are people out there who have the same interests as me, the Backstreet Boys will be around for a long time to come. Feel free to e-mail me if you agree or disagree with me. I'd love to hear everyone's comments and opnions. And I promise I won't get mad at you if you disagree. =) Thanks for listening! =)

As accurate as that is for most boybands, the bsb are an acception to the rules without a doubt! Their music is maturing along with their audience, and people of all ages enjoy the melodies, harmonies, ect. They are not New Kids On The Block and its about time they were aknowledged as more than a "Boy Band", and more of a "Pop Vocal Harmony Group" they have worked their butts off in this industry and deserve alot more respect than they are being given. Sure they are rich, sure they got fans, but they also require respect. Nsync is a cookie-cutter pre-fab group, along with many others. No I dont think their days are numbered, I believe they have just begun to take over...

Hey! I suppose I'm in between on my opinion of the article. It seems as though the music industry are being flooded with boy bands and the BSB don't seem to be as "original" and many people are forgetting that they started the new pop era. Too many bands are coming up and creaitng competition for the BSB. ALso rock music is definitly coming back with Woodstock this year, peopel can't get enuff of groups like Limp Bizkit and I'm even finding myself, a devoted Pop teeny bopper listenign to punk and rock, this does not meean in any way, my love for the boys have diminished. The boys ticket sales and record sales are still high, the demand is still there and as long as us BSB fans stick together and support our boys I think the BSB are capable for lasting much longer than six months....but if we give up on them the author of the article will be proven correct. Let's not let that happen.

While most critics (the disgruffled, grumpy, mean old men/women who insult us this way) always seem to get things right in the end, I don't believe they are

I think that this article is completely true in every way. Pop music is really big these days and I'm afraid it won't be big for long, every thing and everybody has those special moments.

Hey Backstreet.net readers. I am very upset by this article. The think that I hate or dislike most about these types of articles is how they compare BSB or any other group to past groups who have lost fame or however you'd like to put it. In my personal opinion, I think that the Backstreet Boys will be around for a long time. I think they have the confidence and internal strength to keep up the good work. Another one of my personal opinions is that 'N Sync will be gone in a period of 1-3 years. I've seen them on appearences and they don't seem to be working as hard as Backstreet Boys. In my eyes, it looks like their just having fun. Please, don't send me hate mail if you disagree...remember, these are my PERSONAL OPINIONS. One other pop artist I think will be around for a while is Christina Aguilera. Being a singer (not famous or professional), she is very talented and I admire her. I don't think Britney Spears will be here for a long time. Her voice is good but nothing special. Most of her fame came from the consperacy about if she had plastic surgery or not.

I think that, while they may say and wish otherwise, that Backstreet will eventually break up. Eventually is the keyword. I think they can maybe squeeze one or two more albums out, but they are real people and they need real lives. I mean, Kevin is what, 28? Most 28 year olds already have a family by now! I do think, however, that unlike NKOTB, their break up will be a friendly, it's time to move on - we had a good time - we'll still keep in touch - deal.
