BSB are not a boy band, they are a vocal harmony group that can sing a vast amount of music - including pop. They have the potenial to last a very long time for simple reasons that tend to be overlooked. They are 5 guys who are all extremely talented, they present themselves very well and are well rounded individuals with strong beliefs, and most importantly they acknowledge why they are where they are and truly appreciate the people who respect and support them - the fans. They also have the potential to last because of the fan base they have established. Its so powerful and they have had such a huge impact all over the world which won't soon be forgotten. Therefore fans, like myself, aren't going to let the critics, the music business, or anyone else stop the BSB from doing what we love. They have always been underestimated but I think they're going to surprise a lot of people by staying around a lot longer than expected! Their predictions are based on opinion, not facts. Look at BSB, they're already hitting the cover of rollingstone for the 2nd time for the first issue of the new millennium, and their album is breaking records, everywhere, and STILL on the charts. Maybe other boy bands are fading, but it looks like to me, that BSB is still going strong, not only that, but gaining respect from other adults and guys. They also have a tour coming up in February, and another one for the spring and summer. They're nominated at every award show (even ones of 2000), and even win many awards on that too. Everyhting i'm saying is just pure fact, nothing is my opinion here because i'm avoiding the fact that i'm a BSB fan right now, and just want to contradict the critics by laying out the truth. They are unique and have a good style that a wide range of music fans like, and there are so many true fans that will continue to support them. I love them to death and the last thing I wanna see is them dying out. My friends and I have known of bsb since we were in 4th grade, and now we're in middle school and still watching and listening to them. I look up to them a lot, and I support them with all my heart. I believe in is unfair of critics to judge BSB this way. They are growing and constantly earning more fame and respect and I think it will stay that way for a long time. I know that they will be around for a lot longer than 6 more months because they have what it takes. I've been a fan for over 2 years and I plan on staying one for much longer. My parents told me, in a couple years they will be gone and there is nothing you can do about it. They are one hit wonders. Well, I denied it all from the start, I've never givin in and I never will. The Backstreet Boys I feel change with their music a lot. The reason all the ciritcs hate them is because they don't play their own music. They don't play instruments, instead they dancew. You don't hear critics saying in a couple years Offspring, or Limp Bizcut will be gone-THEY ARE BOY BANDS? But what is a boyband? Just a group of guys, or a label that means "They will be gone in a couple of years?" No one (the critsc) want to give them a chance. Backstreet Boys have allready proven themselves with all their writing c redits and the Album Millinium. They sol dmore coppies with millinium then New Kids On The Block sold their entire carreer. When it comes down to who is going to last, you have to ask your selves this: WOuld you still like the Backstreet Boys, if they were ugly and old? If the answer is Yes, then we just have to keep them alive by proving the ciritcs wrong. If you answer is no, your proving that they are just all about their looks. I think they are going to last a while, but that all depends on the fans. I can't defend them alone.
