Mandy Moore said on MTV: "I've had the oppurtunity to go on tour with both the Backstreet Boys and 'NSYNC, and there is such a major difference between the audiences. At 'NSYNC there is a lot of younger people-you know people my age w/their friends." This is why I think that 'NSYNC will die out. Because they are obviously a "boy band". Then she continued : "When you go on tour with the Backstreet Boys-there is an audience of all ages there-so there is really a better chance for my music to get spread around. You see little little kids to older people-which I think is a great accomplishment for them." This is why the Backstreet Boys will be around for a while. They have an audience of ALL ages. That is a true accomplishment to me. I have been to both 'NSYNC and Backstreet Boys concerts, and Mandy Moore couldn't have described the audiences any better than she did. That is why the BSB will be here for a long time!!!! I LUV U BRIAN!!!

bye!!!

I really don't want to sound like a huge fan of the Backstreet Boys when I write this, but I am. And what I'm about to say will sound like I am a HUGE fan. Anyway,I think that the Backstreet Boys time running out is questionable. Yes, there will be a backlash against them-just like there was for the New Kids-but I honestly don't think that it will happen in 6 months. There is a possibility though, because their last single "Larger Than Life" didn't seem to be doing to well as far as having radio airplay. "I Want It That Way" is a great pop song-and for all we know it could really the last great song of their careers!! We don't know!!!! I think that it is wrong for critics to stand up and say " Look-teenage girls are growing up,its extremely hard to find a band that will grow with an audience" when these critics have NO IDEA what teenage girls want in a musical group!!!! Yeah, so what if the NKOTB broke up-and all the other previous "boy bands"- the Backstreet Boys might just be the ones who will stick around for the longest time---as long as we love them.

Thank you

Articles such as that piss me off more than anything!!! If anyone is going to be fizzling out it will be crap-people like Britney Spears and Mandy Moore who wouldn't know talent if it bit them in the butt!!!!! BSB are truly talented young men and just happen to be very attractive. People need to stop comparing all the bands to New Kids and realize its not the 80s and they are something new. I think if *N SYNC, and all the other "boy bands" wouldn't have came out immediately after BSB did, it might not be that big of an issue. No one says anything about Korn and Limp Bizkit hitting big at the same time. People just need to shut up and accept it. Backstreet Boys are the real deal and will be around for a very long time because they are extremely talented guys and aren't just a phase of the time.

Come on..... sure, other bands in the category that BSB has been lumped in with have dwindled with time, but they weren't the BSB. How many artists actually carry a voice trainer on tour with them? BSB does! I think the main difference between them and other groups is their motives. They are obviously not doing this for the money or fame, they do it straight from the heart. Anybody with half a brain could see this when they watch them live. And, to top it all off, they have remained SO honest and level headed (My hat goes to you guys, I couldn't say that I would be able to pull it off.) regardless of the millions of screaming fans. Many might say that this is a "for girls only band", and I probably would still be one of them, but when you see the show they put on, you can't help but want to see and hear more.

i think that the article is just looking at it from a point where they are getting sick of it...if they were looking at the situation from all the fans' point of view then they would see that we are all dedicated to our groups and we would not let them vanish like other goups.

I was shocked to hear somebody actually say that the Backstreet Boys will come to an end in about 6 months or so...um, no...that ain't happenin'..these guys have already gone 12 times platinum (GO BACKSTREET)!!..plus they've won numerous awards, they've graced the covers of many popular magazines, and they also were voted Artists of the Year by Rolling Stones Magazine and they still manage to stay level-headed and not get all selfish and rude..I definetly think that the unconquerable Backstreet boys will continue to soar above all the other teenybopper boy groups...the backstreet boys have so much class and style...they are so devoted to their music and fans...they put their all in their music...whenever they sing, you can hear it coming from their heart......They are by far the most respected group...they ignore the crude comments uttered by rude and jealous onlookers and they are always act like perfect gentlemen and they plaster gorgeous smiles for the fans even though they were up all night recording songs for their new album...anything for the fans...and I seriously think all their hard work and dedication truly makes them LARGER THAN LIFE.

This article poses a good point. But, like it said, I believe that the Backstreet Boys are the exception to this boy band rule. If you listen to their first album, the one from Europe, and then listen to Millennium, you can hear the change in them. The only way they can keep themselves on the charts is to grow with their audiences. They are doing this extremely well; they know that they need to mature, and they also know that they can't grow up too fast. There are BSB fans of many ages, and even if they're too embarrassed to admit it, they still buy the albums. The Backstreet Boys will be sticking around awhile longer.

Reading articles like this really upsets me. A mojority of BSB fans are teenagers and most adults feel that we can't make up our minds about what we want and everything is a fad. Sure, the boys are cute, but there is no way I would listen to their music if I didn't love it. The first time I saw them was on their CD when I went to buy it. There isn't one song of theirs I don't like. I love all kinds of music from Limp Bizkit to Juvenile to Queen. I have been an Alan Jackson fan for 7 years. Have the critiques ever heard of the Beatles or the Rolling Stones or Elvis? I would keep buying the BSB cds for years just to prove them wrong. I agree that many groups die away, but if they would just look a little beyond the surface they would see that the boys have the potential to stay for a long time. I think they just don't like the type of music they make, but you know what, millions of people do. Okay, I just had to give my opinion on this. Thanks.

After reading that article, I felt very angry that even though the Backstreet Boys have come so far in the music industry, there will always be critics and people who say that they won't last and that the pop scene will soon be over. I do remember the New Kids On The Block but you can not even compare the two; The Backstreet Boys have such a different sound and they have been in the business for about 6 years. They are all intelligent men who have their feet firmly planted on the ground and are loyal to their fans. Their music represents a bit from every genre that is out there today in this music industry from pop to a bit of rock, r&b, soul, rap and a sprinkle of country too. When you compare the first Cd, Backstreet Boys, to Millennium, you can tell the difference and the growth that went into the making of this wonderful Cd. Critics say that every boy band is the same - I would like to say if the critics were actually listening and paying attention to the music and the group then they would be able to distinguish that Backstreet Boys were indeed ahead of everyone and that not all so-called boy bands were created equal. Come on - compare Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely to Summer Girl or Tearing Up My Heart. The Backstreet Boys have grown up and matured but that is the way life works and I do believe that they have the determination, the heart, the beliefs, the music, the talent, and finally the fans to keep on making music into the next century and beyond. I think that we will still be seeing the boys for a long time because they will evolve with the cycle of music and will keep on coming back for more!
