Hmm, I guess I'm one of the few who has the guts to say I didn't really 'love' the article as much as the others. She's right about all the $#!+ they have to do but us fans made them into what they are today and if I ever saw any one of them on the street somewhere, I'd ask them for a pic or autograph. Who wouldn't? That's a once in a life time opportunity, please. I've never done all that crap that some of the other obssesed fans have done but I scream my ass off at the concerts and buy all their worthless merchandise. I think I'm doing more than enough to keep them on the charts and keep their royalty checks rollin' in.But I love them anyway!

I am a member of the MFC as well, and I have to whole heartedly agree with what Lori said. We would all love to meet the guys, but they work very hard to make good, enjoyable music and they need to be respected by us, their fans. I saw first hand how out of control the fans got in SLC...these were not children either. ladies you know who you are...Well thanks for letting me vent...

I so totally agree with the article "Being a Backstreet Boy". They do soooooooo much for us and some people don't understand that. The Backstreet Boys always thank us in every interview the give, every TV show they go on, and every time the call into the radio station. What really bugs me is that some fans only think about themselves. I'm sure we've all done this-We get mad if the don't schedule a concert near our town or if the are schedule to show up somewhere but can't because of soooo many fans. I saw this at a fan show conference that I watched on Much Music. Some people from Quebec (misspelled sorry!!) who went to the mike and told the boys that they were mad because they didn't have a concert near their town and that they were the first to like the boys and they shouldn't forget that. They also went on to say that Brian and AJ need to remember the fans because they didn't thank the fans in the Millennium thank-yous. I'm sorry but they don't have to Thank us-even though they do every chance they get-they don't have too. They love us all, but sometimes that can't schedule a concert where you live or do special thing but we should be grateful for all the things they do do for us. That what makes me love the BSB the most-that they really do care about the fans. So thank-you A.J., Brian, Kevin, Howie, and Nick for being the kind and sweet guys you are!

I agree totally with what Lori is saying, but as a fan and a mature one I think we need to also realize that while they are a backstreet boy, they're more, they're human and they're allowed to do humanly things such as have girlfriends. I know that since they've let the fans know they have girlfriends, the bashing has stopped, but not all of it has, and I think that maybe we as fans need to look at what were doing because maybe just maybe their girlfriends aren't all that bad.

I totally agree with the writer of the article. True, we all love their music but every once in a while we need to remind our selves of all they do to keep their fans around the world happy, and do all we can to Keep the Backstreet Pride Alive. Most importantly we need to remember that they are human and don't deserve to have their ears ringing from all the screaming at their concerts, having their personal belongings stolen, having people ripping at their clothes, and having you girlfreind (or boyfreind in your case) insulted. When you find yourself about to do these things think about how you would feel if it was done to you to you.

I totally agree. I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. Yes, maybe the prepubecent girls still don't understand that the boys are grown men and have their own lives and maybe they still believe that one day they'll marry their favourite boy. But there's really no excuse for the older fans, the ones that say they've been there from the beginning. If they had, they'd know just how much the boys have had to put up with to get to where they are today and earn the repect they've finally acheived! I hope one day we'll all be able to see them for the totally normal guys they are, just trying to please people with their music and not for their looks, dance moeves and bodies. I congradulate them on finally getting the Grammy nominations they deserve!

I think it is a good article and it is true, "all of our time spent in flashes of light" That also says alot about their lives.

I like the part about In stead of screaming "A.J. Merry Me!" Secram "Thank YOu" Thank YOu SO Much"

Anyone who is a big fan of the BSB Email me!!

I think that was a great article. I am 34 and love BSB and hope that if I ever met them I wouldn't freak out. They are such real and nice guys and we know that from all the articles we've read and in the case of the guys who are writing songs, from their lyrics. They do so much for us and put up with so many losses in the process that we can make it easier by just being sane to them! I've gone thru the crazy years screaming and yelling for Duran Duran and George Michael, etc. And now that I'm older I can see the silliness of it all. Let's appreciate them more calmly and then we'll be able to see them and be around them more because they won't be afraid of what we might do.

I agree with her. I think that us fans should just stop and realize what the boys have done for us. They have influenced us, taught us to have a different view on life (Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely). They have been through a lot the past year and the least we could do is say thank you for staying strong and not quitting. I give props to the woman that wrote that letter.

I totally agree with what she said. Although i can't promise that i wouldn't ask for an autograph if i saw them, i would never yell and scream in their face. People really don't have enough respect for them. I mean, think about it, we yell at them and jump them and steal from them, how much longer are they really going to want to make music for us? If it was me, i would have quit already. These guys give everything they have to their music and their fans and we should be grateful for that. I have never once said i love the boys cause i don't, i don't know them. I love their music. I love their voices and i love their songs. I don't love them. I don't care if they have girlfriends or whatever because i don't like them because i think i can be with them, i like them because they make truly AWESOME music. In fact, i know this is selfish, but i'm glad that they have girlfriends because that makes them happy and the longer they stay happy the more music they make for us. I am totally grateful for them spending all their time to do what they do for us. And if a bsb ever reads this i have one thing to say. Thank you. YOU are larger than life. Peace!
