I TOTALLY agree with this article. Thank you SOOOOOOO much for saying what you said. I have been trying to explain these things for such a LONG time, but could never find the right words to describe exactly what the BSB do and how they deal with it all. I really hope all you fans take into consideration all that was said in this brilliant article. And everybody should sit back and realize what they (BSB) put up with. Thank You SOOOOO much for putting up this article for all to see. It is wonderful.

OK, I agree with her on most parts. Heck, she's practically reading my mind! I mean, the BSB give me soooooo much happiness and I haven't thanked them except for buying their CDs and other merchandise. I would really like to actually go up to them and say thank you but I don't agree on one thing. She said to walk up to them, introduce myself, say thank you, and walk away without an autograph. Well, sure, of course I'll do that but in no way am I going to walk away without an autograph. I love these guys. I'm not gonna pass up an opportunity to get their signature.

I think the new album should be named "Ha Ha we rule!" that would be simple, true, and it would get the message to all the others in the music industry that they rule!

Ok, I am in complete agreeance when it comes to fans who go to extremes like physically hurting others to get to them or invading their privacy. People like that need to wake up and see what they're doing.

HOWEVER, I also believe that we are FANS of THEM and they know that. How many of you, yes even you "Mature" fans, would walk up to the Boys and NOT ask for an autograph or picture? I mean, yes you should say "hi" and "thank you" but I'm sure they owe it to us and would be HONORED to do it. I think the Boys might feel REJECTED if no one is asking for pics or autographs...

Another point to make is yes people do stupid things occassionally but a lot of it is pure adrenaline rush...you know! The feeling you get when you go to your first BSB concert, now if you know what that feels like I can't even imagine what it would be like to meet them.

I can't say if I agree or disagree on what she wrote... Sure, some fans ARE going to far. It's not even legal to steal things from people or hurt them even if it's not the backstreet boys.

I would never hurt someone on purpose ( even if it wasn't a pop star! ), and I'm pretty sure a normal person could never, plus if it's someone they love.

Sometimes circumstances made people act weird. I'm not that kind of fan, and when I go to a concert, I wear completely normal stuff, don't have a poster with some obsene thing written on it or anything,

and I'm never going to wait for them at their hotel or stalk them as they shop in the city. I agree that the boys are doing alot of things to please us, but have one of you ever though that maybe they're also doing that

to please themselves? Like that time that AJ said he couldn't live without the stage and the rush of adrenaline that it's giving him? I'm sure Nick, AJ, and Brian missed not going to their prom, or to college or

having a normal teen life... But maybe it's because they've wanted it like that (not doing any words game here!!!). They knew that it was going to happen and they wanted it to happen. If not, they would have stopped

that at the begginning. Sure they sometimes need rest ( I know what I look like at 5 in the morning, not to imagine what I would look like if I had ride on a bus all night long...) but they aren't the only one and at least, they"re

getting recognize for their art. One or two years ago, I wrote an article about the only same thing that you wrote, but now I'm not sure of that. Some people will always go too far for stars... It's not a good thing to hurt them

and steal them their personnal things, it won't bring anything to you, but if it makes you feel better to scream your love for them at concert and think that one day you'll personnally marry them, if you don't hurt anyone with that?

I totally disagree with people that hate LeighAnn or Mandy by the time she was with Nick, because I feel that at their age it's just normal for them to have relationship with girl... And when I heard about LeighAnn I was happy for Brian

and I truly hope that one day they will get married because they are so cute together. And last thing, I agree with the not screaming thing if you see them in the street or at the mall because it could be pretty embarrasing for them if you bring

the attention of them, but be honest with yourself, I'm 17 I consider myself as a mature fan (because mature doesn't only mean oldest!), I'm going to study in communication next year in University which mean I'm probably going to

meet many stars in the future, but if I meet the boys one day I would probably just be mute. I mean, I have love their music for 5 years now, I've seen them grow, I had dreamt to meet them and I've seen what they passed through. I've been

worried for Brian when he was at the hospital, I had been sad for Howie when I heard for his sister, I am always worried if I see one of them injured or sick ( like Kevin's arm or Nick flu when they came in Montreal), I just feel like I know them.

And I'm a pretty shy person so... But after all I would probably try to be normal with them the way I had been normal when I met 98 degrees. AND I would probably ask for an autograph, I'm not ashamed to say it.

But THEY ARE NOT NORMAL PERSON... Normal means to be like the majority! How many 19 to 27 years old guy do you know who are recognize by the industry for what they are doing? How many young men like that do you know that

are idolize by billions of person in the world? How many do you know that have realized their dream when their dream mean fame and being a music star? How many people do you know that will be millionaire and have won trophee from all

over the world and gold record and even diamond video before the age of 30? ( 20 for Nick?) I don't know many of them... So none of you can't say that they are normal guys, because they are not. They are gifted people with a huge talent, down-to-earth

boys, they are human being requiring respect, love, and all that have been mentioned, but they aren't normal men. And for all they have done we should be proud of them, we should continue to admire them and to thanks them for that...

WOW...THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THE ARTICLE THAT LORI THOMPSON WROTE ON BEING A BSB. I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH EVERY WORD IN IT AND IF YOU ARE A BSB FAN ALSO, YOU SHOULD AGREE. I ADMIRE BSB SOOOOO MUCH FOR WHAT THEY DO, NO ONE CAN COMPARE. IF YOU SIT AND THINK ABOUT ALL THESE THINGS THAT THEY DO AND GO THROUGH FOR US IT'S JUST INCREDIBLE. HOW COULD ONE POSSIBLY DONATE THAT MUCH TIME TO ONE THING? IT'S LIKE THEY HAVE A JOB THAT NEVER ENDS! HOWEVER, IF YOU DISAGREED WITH THIS LETTER, I HONESTLY HAVE NOTHING BUT PITY FOR YOU. YOU'RE NOT A TRUE FAN WHETHER YOU SAY YOU ARE OR NOT. THE TRUTH IS IF YOU WERE A TRUE FAN AND YOU LOVED THEM THAT DEEPLY YOU WOULD CARE ENOUGH TO RESPECT THEM AND LET THEM HAVE SOMEWHAT OF A NORMAL LIFE. OK, SO WE DON'T LIKE SEEING THEM WITH GIRLFRIENDS...BUT THEY'RE LIKE ANY OTHER HUMAN BEING AND THEY NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE TOO! IT'S SO IMMATURE OF PEOPLE TO HARASS THEIR GIRLFRIENDS OR DO OTHER THINGS SUCH AS STEAL THEIR BELONGINGS, STALK THEM, ETC. SO NEXT TIME YOU GET LIKE THAT, JUST THINK FIRST. THEY'VE MADE US SO HAPPY WITH THEIR MUSIC AND EVERYTHING THEY CONTINUE TO DO, DON'T YOU WANT TO MAKE THEM HAPPY IN RETURN? ONE MORE THING I WOULD LIKE TO SAY IS THAT I THINK IT'S GREAT THAT ALL OF THEM HAVE CHARITIES. I KNOW FANS TRY TO SEND THEM THINGS FOR THEIR B-DAY'S AND I THINK THAT INSTEAD OF DOING THAT (CONSIDERING THAT THE BSB WOULD RATHER YOU DO THIS, DONATE MONEY TO THEIR CHARITIES! EVEN IF IT'S ONLY A LITTLE, YOU'RE HELPING PEOPLE OUT JUST LIKE THEM AND THAT'S GREAT. THANKS FOR READING! KTBSPA!!!

my opninion is you should also respect the boys by not asking them personal questions and respecting their privacy cause they do all the hard work for u all the fans so u should love them but not dedicate your life so that you would marry them someday a true fan can like them cause they love them but mostly a true fan is the one who supports

Hi. I would just like to say that you make some good points, it does take a lot of work to be a backstreet boy. They all have a lot on their plate so I don't disagree with you there but Larger Than Life is a THANK YOU to the fans. We support them no matter what they do, we spend our hard earned money on t-shirts, cd's, posters, etc. With the money we spend on their merchandise, they get roalties that they use to buy homes, cars, shoes, etc. We start petitions to get stuff done involving the boys. We also spend a lot of time listening to their songs, watching their home videos, writing fan letters, expressing our love for them. The line in LTL where they say "All you people can't you see can't you see how your loves affecting our reality, every time we're done, you can make it right and that makes you larger than life" We, the fans, affect their reality by allowing them to have guitar shaped pools, Jaguars sitting in their garage. Where would they be without us? Who knows but there is no way they would be anywhere close to where they are now with out us! When ever they are down and sad, overworked or tired, I'll bet that they think of the millions of people who appreciate and love them for who they are. We love them because they are talented guys (not to mention good looking but that's not the point) I think that if anyone is lucky enough to meet the boys, they have a right to get an autograph or a hug due to the amount that you have helped the boys and their career. Don't get me wrong, you should say thank you for the music because it has helped a lot of people, myself inclusive, through some tough times, but they will probably feel flattered that someone wants their signature that badly. They are kind, down to earth guys. I know that I am just a fan from Regina, Sask and I will probably only meet the guys in my dreams but still, thanks to Larger Than Life, I know that they truly appreciate me and the ways in which I've helped them!!
