I mean, can you honestly say you're a fan if you're actually bitter about the new addition to the Backstreet family? Frankly, it's quite selfish. If you can't be happy about a bundle of joy being in Brian and Leighanne's life, I really don't see the point of you being a fan. Fans support them through thick and thin, no matter what comes along the way, including a child. Some of us just have to realize that the fellas have lives as well, and this is just a prime example. You don't have to like this, but I feel that fans should attempt to respect it at least. It didn't come out because they were persuing a lawsuit against Trans-Con and Louie Pearlman. I don't think waiting until Brain and Leighanne's baby is born is going to hurt them or even waiting until A.J and Sarah get married is going to hurt them any. They've provided 9.5 years of entertainment for us. The least you can do is bite the bullet, so to speak, and be patient. :) It's not like Brian and Leighanne are going to disappear and we'll never see them again. In the article that has started all this controversy, Brian himself said that it was unexpected but he was happy about it. If it was unexpected then how could they have possibly been planning it? And how do you know that Kevin knew at the time of making that announcement? Brian and Leighanne may not have even known. Kevin did not lie because even if he did know (which I highly doubt) that she was pregnant it still doesn't mean it was planned. As for the rest of you...why can't BSB live their lives without the disapproval of the selfish "fans" out there? How would you like it if you and your boyfriend (or girlfriend) announced to friends and family that you were engaged and the whole world turned on you? You probably wouldn’t like it very much. So how do you think they feel? It must become almost like a claustrophobic feeling to living their lives. They must feel boxed in and unable. When you think that you have supportive fans its supposed to be like a friendship (in their case its like a friendship of the world) and you think that you can tell them anything and have their support. So when they make these announcements (with the idea in their heads that if they don’t tell the fans and it gets leaked out then they are lying to us) they are looking for support. But the people that they thought they could trust and rely on and be open to seem to be turning their backs on them when they need it the most. They have given up the majority of their lives to entertain us and while it is a choice of theirs to make, WE the fans influence it a lot. So the sacrifices that they make so we can be happy deserves AT LEAST the support of a marriage or a child being born. Many of you have disappointed me because I thought that the Backstreet Boys had the most supportive and loyal fans in the world...I could never think of another group of fans that compared...and in one personal announcement, I no longer believe in the BSB fans the way I used to. To be honest with you, I am more worried about the support of the fans than the future of the Backstreet Boys. BSB has proven to be stronger than many people think on many different occasions...and now many of the fans have proven to be more selfish than I thought. When he was asked specifically if any of them were planning on having kids soon he said "No." He had to have known that she was pregnant esp. if she is due before the year is over. Now don't get me wrong as i said before i am very happy about the first Backstreet baby, but i dont appreciate being lied to. Even Brian knew this because they had planned on waiting. All this talk about him sacrificing 10 years of his life is a bunch of bull S---. He chose to become an entertainer and had been richly rewarded for it. My point has always been one of concern for the rest of the BSB. They all have to take an extended break now (after an already too long break) that is really going to hurt their careers. All of this could have been avoided by just waiting a year. I'm sure ten years down the road if their career never made a comeback, Brian is going to have some regrets about how much he has sacrificed being with Leighann. People just don't trust and like her. From their various managers, their record company and countless fans she has a reputation for being rude and intrusive/meddeling. Kristen certainly doesn't have this reputation so are all of these people wrong? I don't think so. Plus all of you who say she has to be good or Brian wouldn't be with her are obviously the young and immature ones. We can all be fooled in relationships. You will all, unfortunetly, learn this lesson in life.
