AJ, what you did was so touching. I was in full blown depression for a year and a half not too long ago. It is a deep and tragic feeling. I hope that you can get over this, it is a difficult process and I pray that you overcome it.

Dear AJ,
I just want you to know that I wish you all the best. I love the Backstreet Boys so much and to hear the news about you made me very sad. While watching TRL, I noticed how hard it was for everyone to talk because they care about you so much. I just want to let you know that I care about you too, and I was crying watching TRL. My friend Jenn and I were looking foward to seeing you and the boys next Monday. Now i will have to wait until September to see you and the boys, but if it means that you will be better, it will be worth the wait.
I am so thankful that you wanted to be honest to your fans about what you are going through. It means a lot.

I already repsected and looked up to you for a number of reasons and this just makes me look up to you and respect you even more. AJ ~ I can't say how much I admire you at this moment for making such a brave decision. I know it isn't easy to admit a problem, but trust me, in the end it will all be for the best. Through the music that you, as well as the rest of the guys have played, my life has been completely influenced for the better, and I feel like you guys have been there to support me. I think now is the time for all the fans that been influenced by your music to come together and support you as well as the rest of the group, who are now going through a tought time. Now that you're getting better I hope that your main focus is recuperating, and you're not worrying about disappointing the fans. You're the most important person right now and all of us are going to be praying for you and you'll see that everything is going to pull through. We all need you to get better so that you can go onstage for us and bring a smile to our faces and joy to our lives. To me you are a gift from God and I pray for you every night. Hey guys,
AJ, i'm so glad you admitted that you need help. it proves how strong you are, and you have a lot of will power, and i know you can get through this. life has its bumps in the road, and you just hit a big one. you're so lucky to have brian, kevin, howie, and nick right beside you all of the way. they really love you. don't ever forget all us fans are here for you as well, and we'll always love you, problem or no problem. i really respect you for what you're doing. honestly, i broke into tears today when i heard the news on trl, but then i realized that you need to do this, and i have so much faith in you, and i know you'll get through this. god loves you and is really, really proud of you for admitting you need help, it's the first step to recovery. never lose your faith in him, you need him and he needs you. and we fans need you, bsb isn't the same without you! so, please recover and get back to your crazy, wild self! you have all of my thoughts and prayers, and i'll be there for you every step of the way!

AJ,When I saw the rest of the boys on TRL today and you weren't on there. My heart sank. Everything really hit home. My mom was put into a rehab center in April of 2000 for depression, and alcoholism. When I heard what was happening, all I could do was cry. I'm so glad to hear you are getting help. No one but yourself can get you better, and I'm so proud to hear you were the one who decided this. I will always love and support you. Love,

AJ,It was actually just today that I was meandering around Times Square running errands, me being the huge BSB fan that I am, and was totally unaware that your 4 bandmates were announcing the postponment of the Black and Blue Tour on TRL. I've had the pleasure of meeting you before. You're a totally cool guy, good to your fans, approachable(you had be scared before I got to say hello!) an awesome entertainer, onstage, and as I noticed, while goofing off with your friends. It would be such a waste to have such an awesome person like yourself waste away their years through alcohol. I look at the person you came to be to the public, and although I obviously don't know what you go through off stage or what goes through your mind, but some would think that you have such an awesome job, and have a comfortable life, and everyone loves you. Why should you be depressed? Whatever your reason, be it the stressing job, or something more personal, I hope that you do get through it. You should already know this, but incase you ever feel differently, millions of people all around the world love you and only wish the best for you. You have so many fans who think of you as a role model to them. You've got your mother who was with you on tour... I've seen you 2 together. She seems pretty cool, especially since she is so supportive of what you do. You've got the Backstreet Boys, and hopefully you guys will all be apart of eachothers lives until the very end, no matter what happens in the next 10 years. Well, until the next time, use your time wisely, and I hope you come out feeling alot better. We'll all be waiting for you!! a

Aj i just heard th news.
i live in Canada Alberta Calgary
the dates her have been pospond when i heard i had tears in my eyes.
theni heard why..."Backstreet Boy Aj McLEAN had checked into rehab for achole depression...may we all wish him the best of luck" when i heard that i just started to bawl me eys out.
that was an hour ago and i am still crying there is no keeping it in.
my family had done all they can to help.you know what i understand you are sick and trying to get better. i really appreatiat that. Thank you.
