I really hope you get better. It must be hard on the road and I'm glad you're getting a chance to deal with something you've been struggling with and get some needed rest. I know people who have been depressed and I saw how difficult it was for them to get better. But you're a strong person and we know you will be able to overcome this. We all support you and care about you. I will pray for you every night and wish you luck in overcoming your struggles. :)

Dear AJ (if you read this),
Words cannot describe how I feel about you. You seriously are the strongest, bravest member of BSB to get up enough courage to say to your friends that you need help. Although I didn't watch TRL, I was shocked when I heard the news. Please, AJ, get through this. We all love you so much and we only want the best for you. I love you so much and good luck. I'll be praying for you.

AJ, I am so thankful that u are seeking help. All ur fans are praying for u and will keep on praying for u until u are better. I beleive in u AJ and I know u will come through this. Dear AJ (or do you prefer Alex?):I may not know you or understand the things going on but I DO know what it's like to be depressed. Nothing will help, so I won't tell you any jokes or "cheer up" or "snap out of it" or anything like that. I'm sorry I can't do anything to help. The only thing I can do is hope you make progress and pray for you, along with the my fellow Backstreet Boys fans. Personally, I was surprised; you did a very good job of hiding this depression. And I know that it's gone way too far to hide now. However, I understand that this is the best decision, and that you are very fortunate to even get help for this. And I understand if it takes more than a month. I hope the people complaining about the postponements will come to realize that this is for the best. Meanwhile, just remember that even if you never completely heal, we'll wait as long as it takes until you are ready to perform again. Admitting something like that is never easy. I have always been so drawn to you since day one, because I can see that we are a lot of like. Sometimes we both do things for shock value, changing our hair, getting tatoos things like that. I could always tell that you too used jokes when you were upset or depressed, you could never cry or show emotion when you were around others, but you would go off by yourself to vent. Reading what you bandmates have said today has only confirmed those similarities between us. Sometimes it is hard for people who are not in your head to know just how sensitive you are. I guess it takes a real man (or woman) to show the world who you really are. You are so strong to be able to admit to your problems, and I want you to remember that you have so many people behind you. Your family, friends, the other boys, and your millions and millions of fans. No one is disappointed in you, no one thinks any less of you. I have never been prouder to be a backstreet fan as I was today when I heard that you were able to admit to your problems. So often we try to handle things on our own, but nothing ever gets solved that way. Please rest, reflect, and get well. You will be in my thoughts and most especially my prayers during the next 30 days and beyond. I have always saw a light inside you shining for the whole world to see, somehow I knew over the past several weeks that the light had faded slightly, but I feel in my heart that when this 30 days is up you'll be back shining brighter for the whole world to see. You have taken the first step and that is always the hardest. God bless you and keep you in this your hour of need.Love ya!!!!

When I first heard about the story on TRL today, I was devestated. My friend and I cried and have been upset since. It was brave of you to confront them about your problem. I admire you for that. I just want to say that I'm so very proud of you for being so brave and having that much courage in going up to the guys and confessing to them that you want and need help. I've never gone through a depression, but I can imagine that it's terrible. I know that you're going to get through it, it may take a lot to do it, but in the end, you'll get through it. I really really do hope you get better and no matter what, don't you dare think your alone! You're fans, Brian, Nick, Howie, and Kevin, your family, your friends, me, and God are all right at your side. And I know that you're in each of those people's prayers. I'll be praying for you each night at my bedside until you finally get better! So God bless you and do your best! Alcohol is just junk that ruins your mind and slowly kills you. I wish i could say that i knew you personally because you seem like a really great guy. I just can't belive you have to go throw what you are going through. I have the deepest most respect for bsb for beging honest with the fans, and for aj for admiting a promblem like that He's the biggest man in the group at heart. I'm still a little shocked so I don't know how to explain what i fell beacuse i just saw aj in concert last month and he seemed fine to me.
