I was devastated to hear that AJ has a problem. I saw BSB on July 3rd at the Tweeter Center, and AJ seemed fine. I am not dissappointed in him, and i will never stop loving AJ, Brian, Nick, Kev, and Howie. They are great people and deserve to be treated like normal human beings. I am happy to know that AJ wants to help himself to get better. It takes alot of guts to come out that you have a problem like that, especially when your constantly in the spotlight. Anyone who is a true BSB fan will support him and the rest of the guys. Well BSB fans, lets just hope that all those annoying Nsync fans dont start saying stuff!! You truly are a strong and courageous man for making the decision to help yourself and get well again. We Love and support you, Alex Submitted by joella cooper from witherbee new york USA Date: Tue Jul 10 00:00:22 2001 aj i was very sad to hear about your problem i know what you're going through too i suffer from depression and obsessive compulsive disorder i've had it since i was a child i take medication for it.i know you're going to be alright because you've already taken the first step admitting that you need help that's one of the hardest things to do.i wish i could tell you that the next few weeks are going to be easy but i can't because they're not but things will get better it just takes time and you don't have to worry about people thinking that you're crazy because you're not you just have a chemical imbalance in your brain and there are things that they can give you for that trust me you're going to be just fine and if they give you medication once you start taking it you'll wonder how you ever got along without it i think about that a lot but until then my thoughts are with you. you have a lot of people who care about you including me and we're here for you now and we'll still be here when you get better. There is no way that I can ever express in words the deep sadness that I felt when I heard about AJ today. So many of us picture the life of a celebrity as something wonderful and full of happiness and excitment. I think that AJ's situation proves that depression can touch anyone's life.Even famous people can endure the hardships that we all face, they are not invisable. The silver lining of this cloud is that AJ was man enough to not only admit that he has a problem, but he also made the brave decision to make such a private and difficult time in his life public. He may not realize this now, but going public will probably help so many people out there, fans or not, come to terms with their addiction or depression.I thank god that AJ decided to seak help before the situation was beyond help. To my fellow fans I want to say, this is definatly the time to KEEP THE BACKSTREET PRIDE ALIVE! Just as was done when Brian went through his heart surgery we need to rally behind AJ and the rest of the Backstreet Boys and let them know that we will support them throughout this most difficult time.
