Hello. My name is Angelie Santos and I'm from Lumberton, NC. I heard about the news of you getting help when I was watching the news. When I heard it, I was in full concern and sincere. I have been a fan of the Backstreet Boys since I was 11 years old, and now, I'm already 18. I just want you to know that me, and including many other fans around the world, will have prayers and full support of you. OMG!! that's so terrible -- I had no idea AJ's depression had escalated to such an extent! My goes out to AJ, his family, friends and of course,the other Boys. It was an extremely brave move to check himself into rehab and I'm so relieved and grateful that he did.
Stay strong AJ...you're gonna get through this sweetie!! There are so many people who love and care about you...don't ever forget that.

Dear AJ,I am a big fan of the Backstreet Boys every since I was 10 years old, and now I am 18 years old. When I heard about this terrible news, my heart just sank. Please do feel better and always remember that you, the rest of the Backstreet Boys, family and friends, are always in my thoughts and prayers. Okay so I'm probably not the biggest fan in the world but i would like to say I'm a dedicated one. I fool around with my friends and say that I love AJ and I want to marry you and I'm sure millions of people want to too. But when I found this out It really made me think for a while. I had to ask myself what does this mean now? Am I still going to feel the same way i feel for him? Well after thinking this over I decided that even though this all happen this doesn't change how i feel for you or the rest of bsb. I still care for you guys as people not just as music group. This may sound weird to some because i've never met you but thats just all in the magic of believing and having faith in somethings. You can say im living in a fantasy world and i probably am but who cares. I also asked myself this question if i say i love you do i really mean it. I think in order to really truly love someone who have to accept them for all that they are and all that they will become and all that they are not. Before this happened I never thought of the bad things that you or the others could do. After this happened I see now that they are capable of doing wrong and if i can stick by you through this when you are not all picture perfect then yes i do love you and nobody can tell me other wise.
I don't love you in a lust way its hard to discribe because i fell deeper for you then a boyfriend thing. You may think im lying but im not. People must undertsand that what you did was NOT a bad thing. It was just an act of a soul crying out for help and what helped you at the time(alcohol) was something that hurt you more instead of helping you.
Im am very thankful you reached help when you did. As for the posts and polls and stuff i think its good to have the post so fans can vent and show support but please remember this is a human being and who is in a time of need now we need to be showing sympathy and not put this man's business in the street. Show some respect because im sure he would too. We all make mistakes don't make a very big deal out of this one because he was showing that we are all
human and break down sometimes but if we allow him to go back to normal then that shows that we really do care for him.
I pray now that he will get better and find the answer to heal his soul. God Bless him and everyone else who is going though this.

I am soooo glad that AJ is going to try and get the help he needs. This news has made the other boys and us (their fans) sad. But we will all pray for the Backstreet Boys and for AJ to get through this tough time. I love you guys!

A.J.I am 25 years old and I never really saw myself as a Backstreet fan. I never really paid attention to you guys. I figured you were just another pop group destined to be vanished in a couple year's time who were greedily taking money from preteen girls who didn't know any better.
Yesterday, my view changed and as I was watching MTV, my heart stopped at the news. I may not be a fan of the music, but, I am certainly a fan of yours now. What you did, A.J., Is so admirable and courageous, especially for a celebrity. To be a celebrity going through those kind of problems and then coming out and admitting you have a problem, seeking help, and being honest with fans is so wonderful. I am proud of you. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get better soon. As of yesterday, you have claimed a spot in my prayers until the day you get better.
To the fans: I came to this site because of my younger sister and I heard about this message board. It's great to see how many of you support A.J. seriously through his troubles and not automatically judging him. That, too, is very admirable.

There are times I know about news on that you like to drink, drink is a danger. But to know that you are wanting to be well and better a person left me happy.
