Hey A.J. I was deeply saddened when I heard the news last night. I just kept thinking why did it happen to you, you seemed so happy.This morning I saw trl and understood your reasons completely. I recently lost my grandfather who was a very important person in my life. He is the one who taught me to do everything a grandchild should know. He loved me like a daughter. I sincerely think that next to my grandmother I was his reason for living.I cried for weeks and still do sometimes. All of the BSB fans want is for you and the rest of the guys to be happy, no matter what it takes. I also think this will make you a stronger person.Once again take as long as you want to get happy again.!!! love, Anna

I'm so happy that you finally did this. My name is Chrystal and I have hung out with you numerous times, most recently, friday night in Boston, where I saw you at Jillian's passing up drinks. Right then, I knew that you were already helping yourself. The party scene was quieter than usual and some of the things you said made me realize you were having a difficult time this tour. I've been through this alex and it is so hard, not so much the alcohol,but the depression. You just have to hang in there, get your priorities straight, and think about you ( emotionally and physically), your family, and your future first. Not the guys, not the fame, and especially not the past. We are all here for you, and we are willing to wait as long as possible. You will get better, you took the first and hardest step! And after this you will be so FRESH AND SO CLEAN CLEAN! and next time we go to play pool we'll drink Root Beer! Boston loves you! BE REAL, BE COOL, And BEHAVE Baby!

AJ, I'm sorry to hear what your going through but when I heard it on MTV yesterday and saw how the guys were choked up about I realized how much Brian Nick Kevin and Howie and all your fans including me need you in the Backstreet Boys. AJ,
I just heard the news yesterday. I am very proud of you. I really believe you will beat this and be 100% in due time. I wish I could have said something more to help you when we talked here in Pittsburgh (in June, 2001). I know that you are being very hard on yourself, at least that's what I saw when you tried explaining things to me, but you need to realize that you are only human. You might be a very popular star, but you are also a man, and every man has his own vice. Of course there is no good excuse for drinking excessively, but there ARE good "reasons". The best thing about all of this now is that you are willing to get help and you're doing something about it! You have many many people that care about you, and I don't just mean your fans. Keep your family close to you and the guys will do the best they can to support you, I'm sure of that! The fans will miss you during this time, but your health is what is important and so is your happiness! I am very happy that I got the chance to meet you and hang out with you while you were in Pittsburgh, and also when my friend Shannon and I traveled to Albany. Has Howie had the chance to beat you at pool yet? :) I wish you the best of luck with the obstacles you have to overcome, now and in the future. Hey...
Well I must say, I'm still trying to get through this hard time. This is one of the most horrible things, as a BSB fan, I am going through. I'm feeling alot of pain, and I know all of you reading this, are as well. After hearing AJ sing that song, I realized the pain he was feeling. I feel like that was his cry for help, and I'm so happy that he finally got the treatment that he needed. I know he'll be fine, and I totally back him 110%. I feel so bad for the boys as well. They are going through a time of sorrow, and pain. As far as the tour is concerned, its not even a priority, for me right now. My main concern is that AJ recovers and gets back to his old self, that we all know and love to death. The pain that I'm feeling right now, is unbelieveable, and I know you guys can all relate. This is a time when I think BSB fans really need to stick together, and be there for one another, because its something like this that makes you stop and think, and say.. wow, you really never know whats going on with a person. My prayers are forever with AJ, and so are my tears. I love you, AJ, you mean the world to me, and to everyone.. To all the bsb fans, I feel your pain, we'll help each other. we are supporting aj the whole way through this very hard situation. i really love him, i have loved the backstreet boys for like 8 years, since i was a little kid and well they were kids too i am 14 and i have never experienced what aj is going through but i love him and i pray for him , and to all the guys nick,brian,howie,and kev they probably wont see this but they have no clue who i am,i am supporting them too not only aj. nick good luck with the hand. i really wish aj did not have this problem but unfortunately he does.my words to aj are " ok i know you will make it through this and be back on stage in no time i love you and i will always be there for you " (i saw the backstreet boys concert in colombus ohio and i could have never thought that aj was depressed i mean he was dancing around the stage like a ballerina and he was so funny), but right now i am looking back on the things he has done to make us all laugh, but yesterday i could not laugh about anything funny he has done, i was crying hysterically and i even cried while listening to my favorite bsb songs. i walkedin my room and saw all of the pictures on my walls of them and i then knew i loved aj and i will support all of the guys through anything they will be going through in the future i love them all they inspire me so much and i thank them for doing that but right now i am hanging in there for aj and he has my respect and love .

What's up everybody. I can't believe what has happened. I thought it was some kind of joke, but then my friend Vanessa called me and told me, the story. I was in shock. Well for all of you that read this, lets just keep AJ in our prayers. He did what he had to do. If he didn't recognize this sooner it could have gone from bad to worse. The thing that caught my attention the most was that all the fans cared. I couldn't help realize how each fan looked. All it goes to show is that we truly admire and care for each one of the Backstreet Boys.I just pray that AJ as well as the rest of the crew stick through this. This is one of those times. If you have all seen the CBS special Nick said one thing that really touched the hearts of many. He said,"As long as we have our fans we can conquer anything." and don't you ever forget that. AJ~You are the best! You've got many fans out here and we all care about you so much. I've been a fan of bsb for 5 years, and in a way it feels like I kinda know as much of y*all as you want me to know. So it is very sad that you have to go through this. I'm so sorry about your grandmother and everything. I don't want to make this any of my business, but as a fan, I would like to wish you a get well soon. I know you can get through this because you are very strong. We're all very proud of you to admit that you've got a problem and that's what counts. No one is pressuring you to go back onto the tour. Alex,
Thank you so much for coming forward and admiting your problem. It must have taken alot of strength for you to do so. I am very proud of you. When I heard the song you were writing on TRL, I had tears in my eyes because that song truely came straight from the heart. Just like it said in the song, "Everyone wants to be happy," and I want you to be happy. Your happiness and well-being is all that matters to me.
I'm having a mass said for you and I'm praying the rosary for you. I love you so much. Not just for what you are, but who you are. Your doing this has just given me so much more respect and admiration for you.
Your stepping forward makes people realize that celebrities have real problems. You, AJ McLean the Backstreet Boy, has problems, just like everybody else. This stepping forward maybe will help others who have a similar obstacle to over-come. I am so proud of you! It must have been so hard for you to admit it and I am so glad that you have.
I sincerly hope that you recover and everything will be back on track once again. Get better AJ. You took the first step towards getting better, now please complete the journey.
