Dearest AJ,
It took a lot of guts for you to do what you are doing right now...I am sure you know that you have a God who loves and will never forsake you and ofcourse you have your Backstreet brothers...As you can see you have a lot of fans out here and all of us are worried about your well being and we support your decision 100% and we realize this isnt easy but we hope that by sending these wishes you will be able to get your everyday for the next 30 days knowing that you can get through this...You have put smiles on so many faces...people going through so many terrible times in their lives have found a reason to go on with their lives making changes for the better because of your music and i know how much the fans mean to you so if anythin the fact that so many people love you and wish nothing but the best for you should give some strength to atleast smile for us:) we love you and will pray for you:)

Dear AJ,
I have never been more proud to be a Backstreet Boys fan than I was when the rest of the guys said on TRL that they weren't going to lie to the fans about what was going on with you. I want you to know that you are not alone in your recovery from your depression and anxiety attacks. I have been diagnosed with those disorders as well and I'm going through therapy for them. It is good to know that I'm not the only person going through that and hopefully soon we'll both be completely better. As for the alcoholism, you may have saved me from the pain of having to deal with that. I'm getting ready to go off to college and I know that if it weren't for you, I'd probably get caught up in all that. It's hard to admit when you have a big problem like that, so I'm extremely proud of you for your bravery. You, the rest of the guys, and your family are in my prayers every night. Please continue to be strong and stick it out. As long as you put your mind to it you will get better. Keep up the good work! :)

When I heard about you I wanted to cry. I bet you've heard it all before, but I really do enjoy your music a lot. I'm a big fan. When I heard the news,I rushed to my calendar to check if the concert I'm attending would be post-poned.Now I know that your health and well-being is much more important than any concert. If you need anymore time than we expected, I hope you know that I will understand. You should take all the time you need, because there really isn't a BSB without you. I want to thank you for being so brave and letting everyone know about your condition. I hope you know that you are not letting any of your fans down. I have only respect for you. I just want to say to AJ that I am SOOOOOOOO glad you are getting help and that my brother is also in depression (although he's not old enough to drink), so I sort of know what you're going through. I just want to say that you did the right thing by getting treatment for your problem. I know what it feels like to lose someone that's really close to you cause it happend to me before.

When I heard this on TRL I started to cry. No one deserives to feel that way. The guys have been though a lot already. The light at the tunnel is that he amditted he had a problem and got help. AJ, Right now i have mixed emotions i am very sad that you have this problem, but very happy that you are taking control and are on your way with recovery. I believe that the only person that can fully help you is you! Three years ago i was depressd and was taking the anti depressent drug that i was only on for 4 weeks and havn't been depressed sence. Your the reson why i had such a quick recovery, your misic helped me so much though my rough times in my life. Then out of the blue i had the thrill of my life when i attended your concert in July 1998. Then soon to find out the hotel that i was staying at was yours. Another shocker was the hotel had made a big mistake and roomed my friends and I on your "private" floor. It was like "slap me i'm dreaming..." the whole time you were the nicest when I met you. Though you were on your way out to the mall you still had time to stop and give me an autograph and chat a little. I ran into 3 times and everytime you stopped I "thank you..." for this b/c you saying hello for that short time was helping me out of my depression. You brought me so much joy in a time in my life when i had none. I will never forget the 2 days that I was close to you, but you will always be close to me in my heart. I'm a fan for life thats a promise. I will always give you love and there will be a special spot in my heart for you. Your going to hear this a lot but "take one day at a time" NEVER give up. I am very sorry to hear about your problem, but I am also glad that you came forward to the guys and admitted that you HAD a problem...that took alot of balls...alot of people have been putting you down, but I think that you did the right thing. Many people think that just because your famous it means that your happy...I understand that you are just a normal human being and have the same problems just as any other person. I don't think people should put you down just because your a 'Backstreet Boy' and are in the spotlight. People have been saying that you should set an example because most of your fans are so young - well I am eighteen years old, and I think that the younger fans can be taught about this problem and know that your just a normal human being...well, that's all I have to say. I wish you the best, and I want you to know that all of your fans are here for you.

i wanna say first off that i give u so much credit for being so brave and coming forward and saying u need help. Most people flat out deny it and say that they have no problem. I also wanna say that this just goes to show that bsb really r all about the fans. I respected them alot. But now i respect them more than ever now. They didn't lie about anything. They came right out and said it. That says alot. They truely r special. Not just some "boy band". They respect their fans and they really do care. AJ i just want to let u know that u truely r loved by many people and we're all standing by u with 110%. i can't wait to see u back on the road at the buffalo concert. all of my prayers r with u and the rest of the guys. u'r strong. best wishes and prayers,
