Dear AJ,
I have already written in here 2wice, but I am so sad, and I wanted to write more. You are one strong, and courageous man. I am very proud of you for making the decision to get help. This is going to really help you, and I have faith that it will all be better in the end, and you will be happy again. Ever since the announcement I havent been my normal self. You are someone I really look up to for many reasons, and I really care about you and all the other guys so much, and hearing this, and seeing how sad the other guys were broke my heart into pieces. I dont want you to be in pain. If I could take it all away I would in a second. I cry so much just by looking at a poster, listening to your voice, and especially when I turn on the tv and see clips on the news of you and the guys. When Nick started crying, that really got the best of me. He really cares about you, they all do, and so do the fans, and thats why you have to get better, thats why I believe you will, you have so much support, I know in the end it will all be ok. Its just hard to do anything without wondering what you are doing, what you are feeling, and if you are getting better at all. I bet your curious as to what the public thought of this, if only you knew how much support you were getting..... so many people, fans or not, are standing behind 100% of the way. We all believe in you and want you to get better ASAP. All the fans want to see you happy again, and on stage doing what you love to do, and what you are good at. You add so much diversity to BSB, and you make the group complete. I cant wait till these 30 days are up, and youre happy, and you will be doing many interviews, and saying how youre feeling better, and are ready to continue with BSB. AJ, I wish I could make this easier for you, and every one else it has affected, but I cant, unfortunately. All I can do is pray for you like every other fan is doing, and hope for the best. These 30 days are going to be the slowest days ever, and each day I will be thinking of you, and praying for you. I am still shocked as to how much support you are recieving... well not shocked just ... grateful, i guess. When I first came in here after the announcement on monday i signed this on page 4.... now its up to 197, almost 200!!! Soooooo many people care about you AJ, its unreal!! Then again, how couldnt they?? Look at you, you are such a great person, who we all look up to. We idolize you and respect you so much. You dont deserve this, but I am grateful you are getting the help you need, b4 you let it get way out of control. AJ, I AM SOOO PROUD OF YOU!!! I really am!! You had a lot of guts to admit you had a problem. Gosh AJ, I miss you and I miss seeing your face soo bad, but I know in the end it will all be worth the time you were gone. I would wait for forever and a day if I had to, just so you could get better. I cant wait to see you all happy and sexy as you always are when you return to us. Until then AJ, focus on YOU, thats all thats important right now, YOU and your health. I will be praying for you every chance I get, and you will always be in my thoughts. I know it must have been hard to realize that you needed help, and I'm happy you did and also that you were able to do something about it. I hope that you get better soon and I know that you will return to your calling THE BACKSTREET BOYS. Don't rush yourself, take your time, for we will always be here for you and the boys. I have been a fan for four years and plan to stay a fan for the rest of my life. I'm so glad that you took this step to help your self and the people around you. Honey, I know you are being through a difficult situation, and I won't judge you all I want is you know that I love you and that I'll support every decision you make.
The most important issue here is your health and that you live in peace, so baby, I love you.

A.J.,Hi!!!! I’m Nipper (It’s a nickname. My full name is Nicole, but everyone calls me Nipper.)
After taking a glance at all these messages left for you here, I thought it might be nice if I wrote you one of my own..... When I first began to idolize you guys in 1997 (it was my best friends Cindy & Ashley who had
me, a typical seventh grader, hooked on BSB for life) I had no idea what I was in for. I thought it would be like every other pop group I ever loved. Boy, was I wrong! As time went by, I began to realize why and who everyone was screaming at; five VERY cute guys with huge talent and a
great sound to go along with it. By this time, the name “Backstreet Boys” still hadn’t sunk into
my head. All I knew is that you guys were going to make a difference on the “pop scene” . I knew this mostly because each of you had a very different personality that when they were brought together, only added to an already awesome, unique pop sound ( that I really was hooked on when I went to my very first BSB concert back in August 1998 at the Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto). BSB’s look by now was starting to look less unified and more original for each of you. With time you grew and matured, so did your look and sound, but I never thought it would change as much for the better as it has. Your growth throughout the years has only made the group tighter and more fun to love. Heartbreak washed over us fans, first when we received the news that you were fighting the
lawsuit against Lou Pearlman. Then in May 1998 when it was revealed that Bri would need heart
surgery. We were devastated! The latest reason for fan heartbreak was self imposed when Bri
and Kev announced their engagements, but we have accepted their personal lives into our lives
and realized that Bri and Kev are grown and deserved their happiness in a relationship. A.J., you have always been the rebel type (and I have seen that at all three shows I have been to).
You are never afraid to try something new. Always adding countless crazy tattoos to that body of
yours, along with that dry, sarcastic sense of humour make you the guy we all love. Your jokes
crack me up A.J. but I have to be honest with you; I never thought it would go as far as to put
you in rehab and I’m kinda sad it did. I’m not mad at you by any means, but I am so sorry about
your grandmother, she must have meant the world to you. I’m sorry pal:( I am also very proud of you for coming forward on your own and admitting that you need help to
solve your problem. Good Job!! I have a disability and have to use a wheelchair. Sometimes I ask “Why me?” and get a little upset, so naturally I turn to one or all of your CDs to comfort me. So the best advice I can give you while you are getting better is keep busy and listen to your favourite CDs to keep your mind
off your problems. Never stop hoping A.J because things will get better and you have four loving
brothers, your mom and of course all us fans pulling for you. Lastly, you say that the group is
tighter now then ever before so take the time to talk to the others. They need you as much as you
need them in order to get through this.
The point I’m trying to make here A.J. is that I’m behind you 100% and to say that I LOVE
YOU all very much and I want to thank you for being so honest and open with all us fans.
Together we can beat this and you will be back on the road in no time showing all of us those funky dance moves of yours.

i know i already wrote but i feel as though i have to again. i keep thinking about this. hey do you have any idea how many people adore you? my 7 yr old cousin once told me that he was going to be a Backstreet Boy when he grew up. Even the little ones love you. think of Larger Than Life k? just rembmber that song when your upset. we've always made it better in the past and this is no different. im not sure if this will ever get to you or not but somehow writing makes me feel better. i can assure you that my whole church youth group will be praying for you. they will think im just some overly obsessed crazed fan but theyll pray. i know this isnt much to you. every day you get tons of fans telling you the same exact thing and its always "from the heart" but i wish there was some way i could make you see how much i mean what im saying. i never say things i dont mean. thats how people get hurt. i know that me and my "sisters" have kept you in out thoughts. there isnt a day that goes by where we dont hafta remind each other that your gonna be ok. when you get better get drunk off of life k? my grandpa was an alcoholic and he died. he wasnt able to admit that he needed help before it got too late. if anything, dont do this for the thousands of teens that look up to you. do this for yourself and the other guys. its tearing them up inside. they really love you. im not sure what else to say but im sure there will be plenty more. bye love Rachel

I know your strong and that you can get through this. I always knew you had drinkin problem-but I didnt know it was this serious. I also lost someone speical in my life. She was my aunt, she did in a car crash-she was an amazing women and didnt deserve to die. I didnt know how much she ment to me until she was gone, I was always such a bitch to her and gave her a hard time at times and now I regret it. I never got to say how much I really loved her until well she was dead. I miss her soo much and I defiently understand how it feels when you loose someone sooo dear in your life.
I have been a Backstreet Fan for years now and I basaclly grew up with you guys, since 1996. I feel like I know you guys, and when this happened I did nothin else but cry. I feel for you AJ. Your a strong guy and I know you can pull through. I pray for you every night in hopes that you will recover. I know you cant be cured in 30 days from depression, but hopefully this will help and you will come back to the tour. All the Backstreet Fans and Backstreet Boys are pullin for hoping you will get better. I may not know you personaly but from what I fell inlove with and what I admire...I love you AJ McLean. I know you have a girlfriend and I just met her-shes a sweetie keep on to her!!!
Please try your hardest to get better and stop drinkin if not for me but for the other fans, your mom (who loves you soooo very much), your "brothers" (they want you back J they love you soo much too), and for your grandmother-she wouldnt want to see you throw your life away becuase of alcohole. She loves you AJ and she wouldnt want you to lose all that you have acomplished!! I love you AJ!! Get Better and I will always Pray for you!! Feel Better hunni!!!

AJ I am so proud of you for checking into rehab. When the rest of the guys told everyone on TRL Monday, I was heartbroken and I started crying histerical. Seeing The Backstreet Boys so upset gets me upset. And seeing Nick crying breaks my heart. I wish you the best of luck and I'll see you guys on tour real soon. AJ, as a huge fan of BSB, I, like every other fan, was devastated to hear of the news. However, I will pray for you as you take the next step in recovering and work toward achieving your best self again. I'm really proud that you dealt with the situation in the way you did, and realized your problem before it was too late. And to the rest of BSB, I really respect what you did and how you did it. You showed how much respect and dedication you have to each other as well as the fans. You wanted us to be there each step of the way, and as always, we definitely will. Thanx guys!
