Hey A.J.! I'm going to try to keep this short yet sweet. I'm 13, and I already know how it feels to be depressed and not know what to do. I think you are a very, very strong person, because it takes a MAN to admit that he has a problem and seeks help for it. Some people could of just said, "Oh, this'll pass, I'll be fine." But, you knew what the right thing to do was. You have so many friends and family supporting you, and everyone is here for you! It might seem hard right now, but once you get the help you need, you'll look back and think, "Wow, I'm glad I did that". Things will be much better, and you should know everyone is supporting you! I heard your mom on MTV talking about how positive you've been throughout this, and she sounds amazing. All moms should be that supportive. I just wanted to let you know we've got your back and we love you AJ and God bless!

Hi Aj. I just want to say that you are in my prayers. I see alot of kids my age (16) getting drunk for fun. Alot of my friends are those kids and I always get upset when they tell me how great it is. I think alcohol is almost like a drug and I hope when thay see that you have discovered that it isn't fun and its not cool maybe they'll stop. I think it would be great if you spoke out against alcohol abuse, it would really put things into perspective for people.I hope that management isn't forcing you to go back on tour because I have tickets to the Augest 7th show in Vancouver and I think if you still aren't back to your same self I would feel like because of us (the fans) you may not fully recover. Anyways I think what you're doing is great it takes alot just to realize that you have a problem. I have many frinds who face depression and I just want you to remember when everything seems to be going wrong that God is always happy with you and will always love you.

When i heard that you were goign to be getting help for thirty days, i was
shocked. I was really worried and sad. When i phoned my best friend to tell
her what had happened, and knowing that you. are my idol and i look up to you for
everything, she said "So this means that you don't like him as much right?"
and i got really mad at her. You see, i respect you so much more now, because
of what you did.you have so much courage to let your career go for a short
period of time for your own well being. i mean, it is hard
enough for unfamous people to admit that they have a problem. immagine
what it must be like for a super famouse person to do it. and in the middle of
your biggest tour.
i think you are really brave to have the guts to do what you did and say
"i know i ahve a problem and i want to get it fixed" i really really really admire
you for that. And i'm sure that you will be fine. Not just becasue i am a really
big optomist, but because you are a strong person and whenever you want
something you dont give up. you said yourself exactly this.
" you get what youwant if you work hard for it. If you have the patience to go
through the hard days and process, then- and only then- can you make it"
i got that quote from a book.
and you want to get better and you are going thorugh the process, so you'll
definitally make it. I mean, this is you we're talkimng about. your so
determined. I cannot wait until your thirty days are done and you'll be back
to being happy. (im counting down on my calander!) and i cannot wait until
you return to your normal self on stage and continue doing your "aj" style
stuff and continue having so much life.
you are in my prayers every night and i'll be very happy once your feeling better.
I really really hope your doing fine and i hope you know that all your fans love

I think your doing the right thing, just don't give up?!....I'm here for you if you ever need someone to talk to!.....I know what you going through, because my mom has an alcohole problem and she went to 3 rehab centers, and now is going to AA meetings, and group meetings. Last year, my mom got a DWI, and she's on probation, for 3 years. she is still drinking, and she is not a nice person when is not drinking. Sometimes I wish she would just stop drinking, but it takes time!....I haven't lived with my mom for about 15 years, I am 20 years old (almost 21)... I decided to live her, thinking things were going to be okay, but as I got to know her again, I don't like what I see!....when she is drinking and takes her medicine, she repeats herself, and she talks funny, and thats when i can say anything to her!....But when she is not drinking, she gets angree over the littlest things, and she yells and talks really loud, and puts people down, and she threatens to physically hurt me!....I've only been with her for 4 months now and we got into 3 fights so far. The last fight, I had enough, so I put myself in a teen shelter, and I am getting a job, and my own place to live!....I don't think my mom knows where I'm at!...I want to tell her, but i don't know how?....I want to live with her, and help her out, but she needs to really help herself out first!....she always wants me to be her solber (can't spell!) support, like play games or go shopping or go for walks with her! but that doesn't work, cuz we don't have money, and she still drinks after she takes her medicne and before she goes to bed!(medicine and alcohole does not mix!)....So basically I figured it was time for me to get out on my own! I have my own problems (I am very depressed, and i see a counselor)....Before i go, I do want to think all of the backstreet boys, for saving my life back in 1998!...and i hope that someday i can meet them, and thank them in person!

Hey A.J. I am going to make this short and sweet. I am happy you are getting help for your problem and I know you will recover. It takes a big man, I think, to realize they have a problem and get help for it. You did realize you have a problem and I am happy you are getting help. I know you'll get better!
Can't wait until you come to Toronto in September. Hope you are the same crazy A.J. we all know and love, even though I dont have concert tickets I still can't wait until you return to Toronto.
